I wouldn't make that comparison, of course, but there is a sense in which minorities would have been much better off had they not attached themselves like barnacles to the welfare state.

Sure, food stamps and welfare probably fund some potato chips and cheap wine, and you can idle away your days hanging on the corner, but beyond that welfare actually limits people.

An internal DIA study released recently shows Washington knew that the actions of “the West, (Persian) Gulf countries and Turkey” in Syria may create a Takfiri group like the ISIL.

Michael Flynn, the former head of the DIA, has described the study as important and confirmed its findings.
