A massive fight broke out Monday evening outside the South Carolina Statehouse in Columbia over the Confederate flag.
Around 10 supporters of the flag pulled up in vehicles flying the controversial symbol just outside the capitol, where protesters have been gathered for two weeks - demanding the flag be removed.
Moments after the supporters arrived, the two sides were clashing, with punches being thrown by both groups and the police having to separate everyone.
The clash was allegedly instigated by another flag supporter, who was detained by police at the scene. The video shows him being handcuffed and led away.
Nicholas Thompson, 25, of Irmo, South Carolina, has now been charged with disorderly conduct. It appears he, too, was hit during the fight.
