The Confederate flag is a symbol of pride for that region and has nothing to do with slavery, the fact there are those who that feel pride for their history isn't tolerated is scary. Next thing you know they'll be telling blacks they are no longer able to call themselves "African Americans" because it implies they're proud of their African history which has some of the worst atrocities in recorded history.
