Political discussions about everything

I posted about this a while ago but this article goes into depth about how it happened and the impacts.

1.
They traded against their own customers for personal gain; they used sensitive information entrusted to them to manipulate markets; and now, all they’re going to get is a fine and a slap on the wrist.
2.
What’s even more interesting is that after defrauding the public for so many years, the fine that they pay goes to the United States government.
3.
The US federal government paid $430 billion just in interest last year on its prodigious debt.
4.
Commercial banks own a huge chunk of that debt, and thus earn a huge chunk of that interest. So rather bizarrely, when the government writes them their interest checks, the bankers will get their entire fine right back.
5. Remember, from my previous post, most of that fine is tax-deductible and the rest comes out of the shareholders pockets. Amazingly, no one goes to jail.

For once, comment on this issue not on other board members.
Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people.

So someone is finally cracking down on politicians with fines?

There is another topic on this board called "Where Is The Outrage?" This circus fits into that category. The sad part is that the tax payers pay part of the fine (a large part of the fine is tax deductible) and the rest of the fine comes from the profits that would be distributed to the shareholders. AND NO ONE GOES TO JAIL!

Eric Holder made a mockery of DoJ.

And Lynch is off to a very bad start with the entity fines, but no personal consequences.

Why didn't DoJ seize Hillary's server? Clearly the Sec of State had secure info on many of the 32,000 emails she deleted.

But DoJ didn't care because Hillary is a Democrat.

We now know out of the 360 emails Hillary felt was safe to release the FBI has determined there was information in them that they have classified as secret and could harm national security if released. Imagine the information in the thousands of emails Hillary felt shouldn't be released. All on a private server in her basement, there is no plausible explanation as to why that server hasn't been seized. Since when is a person allowed to gather government emails on their own private servers and then determine which government emails the government is allowed to see?
