It's simple economics. Cut off their major sources of funding and they disappear.

Stop the "War on Drugs" and adopt a rational policy. Legalize drug use and sales, regulate, grow and manufacture in the U.S.

Legalize prostitution, regulate, license, make above board and legitimate.

Eliminate all "morality" laws. Regulate, provide education, counseling, and treatment where necessary.

A few years ago a father who's daughter overdosed on heroin did just that to dealers and those that got his daughter addicted. He put out heroin laced with poison that killed over 30 druggies in that area, the market dried up and crime went down. Over 80% of crimes are related to drugs, most in the community applauded the man's actions. The CIA should lace drugs with poison at it's source, dealers will dry up, those addicts stupid enough to continue using the drugs will soon no longer be a drain on society. Cut off their major sources of funding and they disappear.

Dildo! How wonderful! May we next expect a blizzard of links from Scientific American explaining how legalizing dope will solve all our problems?
Maybe want to check with the Donkeyrat Govornor of Colorado first. He's having second thoughts about a stoned constituency.
Of course you can always fall back on your mantra of the failed hysteria of global warming.
Please, proceed.

...how's that war on drugs going???
There's a few hundred thousand druggies sitting behind bars being told when they can eat, when they can shower, I'd say they're losing. ;) When druggies are locked up, violent and property crimes drop drastically. FBI stats show that the average drug addict will victimize over 230 people in their life time. Druggies will try and tell you drug abuse is a victimless action, far from it.

I suppose the war on drugs was such a success, drug use and possession was legalized in Colorado and other states...

Really? I thought they only legalized marijuana and they're rethinking that after crime rates and traffic deaths went up. So Clown tell us when they legalized drugs, you would think the media would cover that.

But a new report contends that fourteen years later, even after Colorado legalized the sale of small amounts of marijuana for recreational use on Jan. 1 of this year, violent and property crime rates in the city are actually falling.

According to data from the Denver Police Department, violent crime (including homicide, sexual assault, robbery, and aggravated assault) fell by 6.9% in the first quarter of 2014, compared with the same period in 2013. Property crime (including burglary, larceny, auto theft, theft from motor vehicle and arson) dropped by 11.1%.
