You can bet his insurance companies are already drafting up checks for their policy limits to avoid years of court costs and attorney fees knowing the victims will end up getting the policy limits in the end. Once they do that all court and attorney fees will be Jenner's responsibility plus any additional monies the courts give the victims. He went about his life without modifying his trajectory in the least because of the draft.

In my state, even if you rear end someone, if the car you rear end is in the accident first, the first offender is responsible for the entire pile up, regardless of how fast the next car is going. I know this for a fact because I went to court to testify for a woman that rear ended someone who did something really stupid, turning across two lanes of traffic without signalling and then stopping in the middle of the road to be hit. There was no way to avoid hitting him no matter how fast you were going.
He then drove away as a truck exceeding the speed limit by at least 10 mph rear ended the stopped woman.

The woman (the only good driver in the entire accident) was held responsible for the entire accident, even though the guy who started the accident left the scene and the truck was speeding. If he had been doing the speed limit he wouldn't have hit her before stopping.

What speaks volumes about you is that you completely ignore the person who was probably making an illegal U turn, stopped in the road, and try to place blame on someone who likely had no responsibility at all.
