Political discussions about everything

It amazes me that the USA has become the whipping boy for all of the ills in the Arabs world. So much of what the Jihadists preach is flat out wrong; it never happened or it didn't happen the way they now say it did.

a. The Ottoman Empire was considered the capital and spiritual center of Islam. The Ottoman Empire was a very tolerant place; jews, Christian and Muslims coexisted for hundreds of years.

b. The Ottoman Empire threw in with the kaiser and were defeated toward the end of WW I. Turkey, although originally part of the ottoman Empire, set themselves up as the good guys and friends of Britain and France after Worl War I. To a lesser extent italy and Russia were also players but the Bolshevic Revolution ended Russian participation.

c. Turkey, under the leader Ataturk, allowed the Ottoman Empiror to remain as the cerimonial head of Islam for sefveral years but then ceased to acknowledge the Empiror and the Empire ceased to exist. Therefore, Turkey which is an Arab state, and not the West was the one that ended the Caliphate.

d. Britain and France, and to a lesser extent Italy, divied up the Empire into several states based looswly on tribal affiliations. The Kurds were promised a homeland but that never happened. France was supposed to be an equal partner in the spoils of the Middle East, essentially both being "leaders-in-fact," but Braitain conned France out of much of what they were promised. Britain and France did not rule their Arab protectorates nicely and the Arabs got right testy about it. BTW-Churchill was a major player in all of this.

e. In the treaties after World War I it was promised that there would be a homeland for the Jews but Britain dragged their feet for decades hoping that the issue would go away. Finally in 1948 the issue refused to go away and Israel came into existance. Within hours the surrounding Arabs states attacked only to be defeated by Israel.

f. After the 1948 war, the Arab states told the Palastinians in Israel to leave so that, when they attacked Israel again, they could pretty much carpet bomb Israel and not have to worry about killing the Muslims. Let me repeat that. After the 1948 war, the Arab states told the Palastinians in Israel to leave so that, when they attacked Israel again they could pretty much carpet bomb Israel and not have to worry about killing the Muslims. Over 100,000 Palastinians left Israel and waited to see Israel get ther ass kicked. They're still waiting.

g. Now about the Palastinian Homeland. After the 1948 war, King Abdulla of Jordan annexed the West Bank and Egypt annexed Gaza. If this land grab had not happened there would have been a nice chunk of land for a Palastinian Homeland. Once again, the West was not the bad guys, it was Arabs that fucked Arabs.

So it comes down to this; the real reason for all of this shit is that the Arab leaders need someone to blame for the corruption, mismanagement and nepotism and Israel and the West are better targets than the Arab leaders. Naturally, we don't want to make anyone mad so we make nice with these despots and we agree to be bad guys

Obama, and Holder, cannot even say the words "Islamic terrorist."

From Obama's crazy leftist mother, to his drunken Islamic Keynesian father, to Frank Marshall Davis, to Bill Ayers, to Jeremiah Wright, his developmental years saw him surrounded by radical leftists.

BTW-The Ba'ath Party, of infamous Saddam Hussein fame, was founded by a Syrian Christian Arab nationalist named Michel Aflaq. Christians could be members of the Ba'ath Party. Even during the reign of Saddam, Tarik Aziz was a Chaldean Christain and was Saddam's deputy.

LOL...Just dawned on me that the founder of the Ba'ath Party has the same last name as the insurance company with the duck on Tv. Michel Aflaq is his real name though.

.....U.S. Ambassador April Glaspie told Saddam, “We have no opinion on your Arab-Arab conflicts, such as your dispute with Kuwait. Secretary (James) Baker has directed me to emphasize the instruction, first given to Iraq in the 1960s, that the Kuwait issue is not associated with America.” Saddam, who was America’s agent of opposition against Iran during the 1980s and on the CIA’s payroll, saw this as a green light to deploy his U.S- and NATO-supplied, trained and funded military against Kuwait, which had no military to speak of.....
