Last night at least 20 targets were attacked by (US?) aircraft against ISIS inside Syria. Unless ISIS is "painting" their own targets (unlikely) there are US forces on the ground "painting" the targets with laser pin pointers to guide the smart bombs. There are probably 150 covert forces in Syria supporting this mission.

We should all salute the brave military members that choose to do this dangerous and secretive work. Their work will forever remain a secret with only a "well done" from those who sent these professionals into harms way.

DOD ordered 100 Tomahawks for 2015. They have recently doubled that order to 196 units.
They just launched 47 last night.

tvd-I wouldn't second guess the military as I'm sure that they know what they are doing. I'm sure that the military has an existing stockpile of weapons that they can draw from.

Total orders of 3000, used 2300 so far. This is the newest Tomahawk version.

They got about 700 in the stockpile.

What I am saying is that they are gonna run out of bullets......

Tomahawks are very expensive....so the target has to be worth it, such as a building or compound.
I get the sense ISIS is constantly on the move and not allowing opportunities for targets worth tomahawk strikes.
Maybe it's time to use some old WWII tactics......carpet bombing day and night with some old B52s.....destroy buildings, houses, roads, cars, camels, goats, everything.

The military has gotten way too small, and the lack of preparation the American military had before WW II springs to mind.

Also, America now has one full generation which had zero national service obligation and views soldiers not as representatives of our foreign policy, but merely as public servants like cops and firemen.

To be fair to Obama, his support on the Left would vanish if he did what he criticized Bush for years for doing -- a ground invasion.

The problem is that Obama has no interest in anything but spending money, helping illegal immigrants, race-baiting, and destroying the country.

Malcolm-you hit on a nerve here. The Liberty was attacked in international waters after repeated flybys of Israeli planes. Some of the planes were flown by American pilots, trained by the US Air Force (dual citizenship.) Read the book written by the Captain of the Liberty. In it are pictures of Israeli planes flying so close that the pilot's face would be visible if he didn't have his helmet and oxygen mask on. There are contentions that Israel was killing all Egyption prisoners and the Liberty was attacked to cover up their war crimes.

Who do you think are painting many of the targets? Israel is our eyes and ears in the Middle East and they have a special operation force second to none and they actively helped us in every conflict in that area. Our Government can't openly give them credit for everything they do for us or else the whole region would erupt if they knew Jews are more active than we are in fighting Islamic terrorist. Concerning killing Palestinian kids, Palestinians use their kids schools to hide their bombs and fire their rockets from and you blame Israel for putting Palestinian kids in harms way? :shock:

Vice President Joe Biden is getting a slap on the wrist from Jewish groups this week, after he called those who took financial advantage of servicemembers "Shylocks."

Biden was discussing his son's military services during a speech when he uttered the term, which comes from Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice, a play in which Shylock is a Jewish moneylender and antagonist. Clearly Biden meant the term not in a "shady moneylender" way, but in a "shady Jew" way, right?

Not even the Anti-Defamation League, the Jewish advocacy group that watches out for anti-Semitic incidents, thinks Biden believes those stereotypes. Yet its president, Abraham Foxman, issued a statement condemning this particular phrase anway.

"When someone as friendly to the Jewish community and open and tolerant an individual as is Vice President Joe Biden, uses the term 'Shylocked' to describe unscrupulous moneylenders dealing with service men and women, we see once again how deeply embedded this stereotype about Jews is in society," Foxman said.

At least we know Biden reads his Shakespeare?

Down here in my part of Texas we have very few Jews...so the term Shylock is not commonly used. But I see where Jews would be up set. Shylock is their word for their use only..just like the "N" word belongs to the black folk.
