a. When ISIS overran northern Iraq they were 7000 strong. Iraq has an army 300,000 strong. Iraq's forces ran from ISIS. How can ISIS be so strong that they can defeat a 300,000 man army armed with the latest US weapons?
b. Thanks to Bush, et al we disbanded Iraq's military that couid have helped to stabilize Iraq and we imposed a corrupt Shiite government in Iraq which is largely Sunni (85%) Thousands of dead American troops for what? (Please bemember that Sunnis and Shiites have fought each other for hundreds of years.)
c. It turns out that the main winner of the Iraq invasion is Iran as they now have a friend on their border, Can we expect Iraq to join forces with Iran against the US? Will Iran help Iraq defeat ISIS which is a sworn enemy of Iran?
d. ISIS got their start in Syria with the wink and a nod from Syria. We are now talking about engaging in Syria. My question...Who is the enemy in Syria? Is this another case of sinking the good guys and helping the bad guys?
e. The leaders of Iraq are reported to have stolen hundreds of millions (billions?) from Iraq. What don't we publicize this for the Iraqi people> Saddam reportedly squirlled away billions in foreign banks. Have we attempted to get this back for the Iraqi people?
7. Halliburton and (then) Blackwater made hundreds of millions in Iraq; Much of it fraudulently. Couldn't we get some of this back to help defeat ISIS?
