Political discussions about everything

Reporters from The Washington Post and The Huffington Post were arrested in Ferguson, Mo., on Wednesday night while covering the protests that have rocked the St. Louis suburb.

Wesley Lowery, a Washington Post political reporter, and Ryan Reilly, a Huffington Post justice reporter, were arrested in a McDonald's shortly before 8 p.m. EDT. Police entered the restaurant and told patrons to leave, the reporters wrote on Twitter after their release. The police then asked Lowery and Reilly for their identification and, according to the reporters, arrested them because they weren't packing their bags fast enough.

Lowery also said the police officers "assaulted" him. "Officers slammed me into a fountain soda machine because I was confused about which door they were asking me to walk out of," he wrote on Twitter. Lowery also said that he and Reilly were released without paperwork or charges, and that the officers refused to provide the reporters with their names.

Elkin, you really are immature.

You've never visited Auschwitz, Dachau, etc.

You've never been to the Killing Fields in Asia either.

Elkin, the time you watched Sgt Schultz on TV doesn't count for knowledge of Germany, much less the "Gestapo."

The Washington Post has no "journalists" anyhow.

When Nixon resigned under threat of impeachment in 1974, the Post had journalists eagerly digging into his behavior.

Today, with Obama's IRS having done what Nixon only endeavored to do, the Post has no interest because their guy, a Democrat, is in the Oval Office.

(JTA) — President Richard Nixon is heard in the last set of his White House tapes making anti-Semitic statements in discussions with visitors to the Oval Office and by telephone.

The 340 hours of tapes, which cover from April 9, 1973 to July 12, 1973, were released Wednesday by the Nixon Presidential Library. They are the last set of tapes that will be released by the library.

In a phone discussion in mid-April with Henry Kissinger, a Jew who at the time was the national security adviser, Nixon expresses concerns that Jews would torpedo an upcoming U.S.-Soviet summit. If that happened, Nixon said, “Let me say, Henry, it’s gonna be the worst thing that happened to Jews in American history.” He added, “If they torpedo this summit — and it might go down for other reasons — I’m gonna put the blame on them, and I’m going to do it publicly at 9 o’clock at night before 80 million people.”

He continued: “They put the Jewish interest above America’s interest, and it’s about goddamn time that the Jew in America realizes he’s an American first and a Jew second.”

In a tape from May 1 that is labeled by the library as “Garment’s Jewish background,” referring to Nixon aide and lawyer Leonard Garment, Nixon is heard shouting “Goddamn his Jewish soul” after saying he wants to fire Garment for an inappropriate comment.

Another tape released this week reveals that Nixon also attempted to reduce the swarm of Jews who made up, even then, senior White House and government officials

When asked about appointees, Nixon tells presidential counselor Anne Armstrong there should be “No Jews. We are adamant when I say no Jews. … But Mexicans are important. Italians, Eastern Europeans. That sort of thing.”

Nixon accused the Jews of holding American foreign policy “hostage to Jewish emigration from the Soviet Union,” and added that “the American people are not going to let them destroy our foreign policy — never!”

Nixon was referring to a summit meeting where one of the topics of discussion was a peace solution to the Israeli-Palestinian question which involved Israel giving back land seized during the 1967 war.

The fact that the Jewish lobby could create enough pressure to potentially sabotage an international conference, as Nixon outlined, is more proof of the power of those Jewish Supremacists in determining American policy—even under a president who was aware of their influence.

It is no doubt significant that Nixon made this threat of “naming” the Jewish lobby on national television directly to what he knew to be the leading Jewish Supremacist in his government,. Kissinger.

Nixon knew that Kissinger would relay this message back to his tribe, and they would stop their efforts to sabotage the summit—which was indeed exactly what happened.

Future presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush are heard in conversations recorded on the tapes offering Nixon support during the Watergate affair.

Nixon on previous tapes was heard making anti-Semitic remarks about Jewish politicians and others.

Oh golly, ya think Woodward and Bernstein might have set tricky dicky up?

Why did the IRS have to destroy Lerner's email?

Because it almost surely revealed a link to the White House.

Why has every shred of info had to be pried out of the IRS? Because the IRS was abusing its political enemies and didn't want the full extent of it known.

Were it otherwise, the IRS would simply have furnished the relevant email and been happy to do so quickly.

Well, why didn't the IRS promptly furnish all of Lerner's email.

Even decades ago, email was on servers. It is idiotic to suggest the loss of one microcomputer hard drive would cause email loss.

Also, there are tape backups, as in every federal agency.

Why did the IRS have to destroy Lerner's email?

Because it almost surely revealed a link to the White House.

If our inner cities continue the trend of lawless mobs roaming the streets at night with their hatred stroked by the like of Obama and Sharpton, Gestapo methods may indeed be needed to protect the good citizens. A 13 year old girl was gang raped and then her throat slit in Chicago her body left as if she was nothing more than trash to the savages who did it, not a peep from Obama, the thugs who did it won't be arrested because nobody cares, it was black on white revenge, no big deal, get used to it folks, our society is screwed unless people wake up.

We need a Gestapo to stop this madness. The inner cities invested with liberals needs to be addressed, it's spreading and bringing crime and violence to once quite little towns. There needs to be a zero tolerance, kick ass and take names effort to clean our streets, enough is enough. That little 13 year old child one be last victim of thugs who openly roam the streets and prey on anyone weaker than them. The innocent need to be protected.

We have an oppressive government under Obama, what we need is a government that follows the laws of this country and enforces them equally. Thugs need to be controlled and law abiding citizens left alone. ;)

So what does Obama have to do with a local police department's heavy handed response to people exercising their 1st amendment rights???

There's a legit debate about the extent to which police depts. should be militarized.

I guess they felt, after 9/11, they needed to be prepared for local terrorist attacks.

Of course, America behaved very foolishly after 9/11 in the sense that it never controlled its border and never inquired who was in the country or why.

E.g., foreign student visa overstays.

Crime has been trending down in the USA for more than two decades.

When I think of police, Andy Griffith comes to mind, but in reality it resembles more like Audie Murphy.

I can understand when people become cops they are looking for action. But arresting journalists and shooting rubber bullets at the citizenry is a bit off the hook.............

I happen to believe America really does need to have a serious, long discussion about surplus military equipment being handed to local cops.

There are some good things about the process, and some which make all of us say "Hummmm..."

But modern cops don't resemble Audie at all. He was a small person, and had been rejected for service before given his frail physique. But he grew up poor and learned to shoot a rifle. And, when he used a rifle in the military, enemy soldiers died.

Above all, Audie was bold. He believe audacity provided him with a critical edge. When there was doubt, he resolved it in favor of dead enemy soldiers. Thankfully, Audie was on the side of liberty in WW II.
