Obama touts 'deeply personal' connection between him and Africa.Obama's is destroying America's economy while building up Africa's on our back...now why would he do that? Expect Obama to go all out wild with our money over the next two years.
Tuesday evening’s formal White House dinner with more than 40 African heads of state embodied the “deeply personal” connection between the U.S. and Africa, President Obama told the gathering of political officials and celebrities on the South Lawn.
“Tonight we are making history, and it’s an honor to have all of you here. I stand before you as the president of the United States, a proud American. I also stand before you as the son of a man from Africa,” Obama said. “The blood of Africa runs through my family, so for us, the bonds between our countries, our continents are deeply personal.” “To think that the son of an African man is hosting this event in a house built by African slaves,”
"The United States is determined to be a partner in Africa's success," he said. "We don't look to Africa simply for its natural resources. We recognize Africa for its greatest resource, which is its people, their talents and their potential." Obama announced $33 billion in commitments Tuesday aimed at shifting U.S. ties with Africa beyond humanitarian aid and toward more equal economic partnerships. Obama also touted another $12 billion in new commitments for the "Obama's Power Africa initiative ".
Obama also signed an executive order Tuesday creating an advisory committee comprised of private sector representatives who will advise the White House on ways to boost Africa's economy.
"The bottom line is, the United States is making a major and long-term investment in Africa’s progress. And taken together, the new commitments I’ve described today across our government will support development across Africa Africa"
