"You're right of course, Clown. The General was no Trayvon Martin."-sillydaddy
Yes, very funny.
But you're right, Greene was no Travon Martin.
Greene was a soldier who knew the risks and died in a war zone doing his job.
Martin was a civilian who died at home in the U.S. for "walking home while black."
sillydaddy is just another conservative who doesn't understand that a President doesn't cry publicly over an individual soldier he ordered to a war zone.
A President may cry over an individual citizen if something tragic happens that illustrates a larger social problem facing the entire country.
Martin was not a soldier. He was a dumb teenager. And he died at home.
He didn't die just because he was a punk. And he didn't die for anything you think he may have done previously.
And he didn't die because you believe he may have been casing homes that night.
He died for the crime of walking home while black in a hoody and he died at the hands of a vigilante who ignored the police and the rules of the community watch program.
That, of course, doesn't sadden you conservatives because you believe 'he was a punk who got what he deserved' for being black and wearing a hoody walking home on a rainy night in a nice neighborhood.
That does sadden anyone concerned with justice, taking the law into one's own hands, and with how far we still have to go as a nation.
