The comparisons between Louis XV and the Dear Leader (and their wives, Madame Pompadour and Moo) are compelling.
Neither of them are/were fit for their jobs, neither cared, both indulged in personal excess and both seriously damaged their countries.
The "Deluge" reference is from a quote, attributed to Louis XV. When asked if he were concerned about his legacy, he replied that nothing mattered because the deluge would come after he were out of office.
Quite Obama-esque.
