Here is an article about another state seeking to allow Hemp to be grown by farmers. Three other states have already passed similar laws. Just a few facts about hemp:
1. Several of our founding documents are on hemp paper.
2. George Washington (and other founding fathers) grew hemp.
3. The hemp industry is a trillion dollar business that is shut off to US farmers because police just might mistake hemp for pot.
4. There are over 25,000 uses for hemp.
5. Houses are being built with hempcrete; concrete with hemp as a binder that strengthes the finished product.
6. Hemp seeds are a very nutricious food (I have some at my home.)
7. The US is the largest importer of hemp, mainly from China and Canada.
8. US hemp is used with cotton in textiles to make a softer fabric that lasts much longer.
9. Hemp can be made into a biofuel.
10. Hemp can be grown on land that is marginal for other crops.
11. Hemp can be harvested with the farmer's current equipment.
12. Most importantly: Hemp cannot make you high.
