I was "local"....sort of.....in that I lived in Mooresville, NC for quite a few years. I moved to Brevard county FL a few years ago.
Is Ocracoke as a whole struggling? I heard the environmentalist movement has tried to shut down driving on the beach, as well as kill most of the fishing businesses.
Specifically, what I heard was that they bought the only ice plant right there by Silver Lake, and shut it down. No ice, no fishing.
I wanted to get Dogzilla out for a beer, but it never happened. He's down there near Morehead City, I think.

My handicap....37 years paraplegic. I remember when you posted about your wreck. Sorta seems like at times you have had an epiphany...a new view on life...maybe I am wrong.

They had the whole OI bridge shut down earlier this or last year and I cannot blame them. The bridge is washed out and unsafe. Our new 'Pub gov got it opened again.
