In 2002, this time of the year just 9.5 percent of the surface of the Great Lakes was covered with ice; the largest freshwater lake in the world. As of February 10th, ice covered 80.4 percent of all the Great Lakes - An expert on Great Lakes ice says there’s a “very high likelihood” that the three-quadrillion-gallon lake will soon be totally covered with ice thanks.In 2002 Gore predict by 2010 there would be no more ice on the great Lakes. The fact that it went from 9.5 percent ice to being 80.4 percent ice proves he was on to something and he's really excited about the news.
