Political discussions about everything

The U.S. will exhaust its borrowing authority far earlier than Treasury Secretary Jack Lew had estimated, he said in a letter to Congressional leaders on Wednesday.

Lew warned in the new letter that Congress will need to raise the debt ceiling by late February to avoid a potential default on the country's obligations.

"The significantly smaller amount of headroom that can be freed up now will quickly be exhausted by the large obligations of the government that occur in the month of February," Lew wrote

Duh! Do you think Chairman Issa's endless investigations and hearings are free? Do you think the forty some pointless votes to overturn Messiahcare cost nothing? What about paying employees for taking two weeks off last fall when the Tea Partiers were in charge of congress?

These things add up.

Votes against Obamacare are not pointless at all.

First, the future is unknown and unknowable.

Obama and his minions should have tried to rescue those trapped in Benghazi instead of letting them fight for 8 hours and be killed.

Perhaps they would have failed, but they should have tried.

After Carter failed to rescue the hostages in Iran, he should have tried again.

Looking back, we all know who won this or that war, or how things turned out, but life is lived forward.

If you knew how government actually works, as opposed to how you believe and hope it might work, you would know those votes to overturn Messiahcare are a pointless waste of time and money as long as Obama is in the White House and the Tea Partiers don't have veto-proof majorities.

Windmills (They're not just for breakfast any longer. They're an essential staple of the GOP diet.)

One of us has worked for decades in D.C.

One of us has not.

If the future were known or knowable, we would all be sitting in a hot tub in Davos this week surrounded by supermodels.

If Obama had known how the 2012 election would go, he and Hillary would not have lied about Benghazi.

Actually it identified the politicians that knew what they were talking about and those who were clueless about how bad Obamacare would turn out to be. You can bet those who voted against Obamacare will bring their vote up "every" time they run for office, it will be part of their resume for the rest of their lives while those who voted for it will attempt to sweep their vote under the rug.

So they're votes against it was a brilliant move and far from a waste of time.

Just as crazy people don't understand they're crazy (that's one of the chief things that makes them crazy), conservatives don't understand that the universe they believe they live in, isn't an alternate universe. That's one of the things that makes conservatives so entertaining; their version of reality.

Fair, Balanced and Unafraid.

No. You don't have to, or shouldn't have to be a doctor to know that one of the definitions of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Voting to repeal MessiahCare over and over with no real world possibility of repealing it is literally doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Thus, once again we see that conservatives are crazy by their own insane actions.

Yet people like Forbes and JustFreedManMe claim that the endless, fruitless votes to repeal are worthwhile. Proving again that truly crazy people have no idea they truly are crazy.

But they are unintentionally entertaining.

Only in retrospect is it known what Congress may do.

You lose 100 percent of all contests in which you give up in advance.

In the case of Grog, and the multiple cases of beer he swilled every day, it was fruitless for him to hope to retain control of his burgeoning belly as it surged above his belt and then flowed over much like Angel Falls in the rainy season.

^^^See?

It's not only self-fulfilling, it's self-contagious.

Forbes apparently lives in a world where Obama did not control the White House and the Dems did not control the Senate when the 43 over and over votes were taken. He believes that if the Tea Partiers voted often enough, Obama and the Senate would acquiesce to their craziness.

The only Tea Party insanity that has thus far prevailed was closing the government for a couple weeks and sending a lot of federal employees home. Then, Tea Partiers voted in favor of paying federal employees for the time off the Tea Partiers forced.

Crazy is as crazy does and it don't get much crazier than the Tea Party.

Notice how the Tea Party scares the shit out of liberals, that's all they can talk about because they know that growing group of people have more and more Americans listening to their well reasoned messages. If voters become educated and informed Democrats are in trouble.

But, young Mr Elkin, people with different opinions are not "neo" or "clowns."

Per contra, they are people with more education, life-experience, and business acumen than you have, kiddo.

Nothing is more ridiculous than being so lazy as to accept socialist policy which has failed again and again and again, and that's all Obama propounds.

Forty years ago, professors were calling Keynesian theorists naive and simplistic, yet Obama lovers -- bedazzled by a biracial leftist -- find socialism fresh and new and lovely.

Do you really want to debate whether or not Obama is a socialist? Well ask a socialist...

"Socialized health care" is on its way. The "socialist agenda" is taking over America. And best of all, Barack Obama, a "committed socialist ideologue," is in the Oval Office.

But Wharton, co-chair of the Socialist Party USA, sees no reason to celebrate. He's seen people with bumper stickers and placards that call Obama a socialist, and he has a message for them: Obama isn't a socialist. He's not even a liberal.
"We didn't see a great victory with the election of Barack Obama," Wharton says, " and we certainly didn't see our agenda move from the streets to the White House."

At the outset, I assumed Obama was just another Harvard humanist -- the sort of secular progressive so common in the groves of academe.

I assumed the Obamas sat and listened to the drivel of Jeremiah Wright just to gain street credibility in Chicago.

But, as Obama comes to six years, it is time for everybody to admit Obama is just a cheap knockoff of his philandering, alcoholic Kenyan socialist father.

Obama's father's approach failed in Kenya, as it has failed all around the world, and America bears witness to the results too:

48 million on food stamps

11 million on disability

12 million illegal immigrants

17.3 trillion in debt

race-baiting by Obama and his ilk now commonplace

class warfare the norm in America. with success demeaned and welfare enthroned
