Political discussions about everything

Wall St J:

"President Obama and Democrats have been at great pains to insist they knew nothing about IRS targeting of conservative 501(c)(4) nonprofits before the 2012 election. They've been at even greater pains this week to ensure that the same conservative groups are silenced in the 2014 midterms. That's the big, dirty secret of the omnibus negotiations. As one of the only bills destined to pass this year, the omnibus was—behind the scenes—a flurry of horse trading. One of the biggest fights was over GOP efforts to include language to stop the IRS from instituting a new round of 501(c)(4) targeting. The White House is so counting on the tax agency to muzzle its political opponents that it willingly sacrificed its own priorities to keep the muzzle in place."

There's not going to be a "reformist" style political revolution in the US. There is only one team on the field playing us against each other with silly social issues. And the R's are currently the "team" that can't win an election. And life in the police state will march on and get worse, and so will all of the bitching about it.

But nobody, no body is ever going to do anything about it.

They can't.

It's over.

If you don't believe me consider this.

BHO has presided over probably the largest expansion of the police state in history. And all the brainwashed partisan dumbfucks can say about it is that GWB started it with the PA.

Really, that's all any of them have to say about it.

Where is RC now with his party over country bullshit comments?

No, Brandon. When Obama presides over the largest expansion of the police state in history, we tell you that that is exactly what liberals told you was going to happen with the Patriot Act.

The Patriot Act that all you Republican dumbfucks here were cheering for (war on terror! Rah! Rah!) and all the liberal minds here were condemning because they knew what it would do, all you clowns ridiculed the liberals and insisted it was necessary to preserve our freedom.
You were told repeatedly that this would happen. ( Lucky was famous for telling you guys this over and over. You ridiculed and laughed at him) but not a peep of concern out of you fools then.
You were warned that once this became law it could not be undone. But you didn't care.

And it wasn't just Bush. It was a Republican Congress that first did this thing, and you clowns are blaming Obama.
Take some responsibility for your votes and place the blame where it belongs, with yourselves.

Then you guys wail about the NSA violating our privacy and blame Obama, but again, this program was started by
Bush in 2001 and everyone knew about it in 2006. This is not news.
Again, not a whisper of concern when it was your guy doing the violating. But if Obama does it it's "the end of America's greatness" and you try to blame liberals for it.

You still don't get it. Liberals aren't here saying "GWB started it with the PA."
They're here saying "We told you so you stupid partisan tools."

Who cares who started the NSA system of using alogrithms to monitor all phone calls, email, etc?

It is wrong if it was started by the man in the moon.

It is utterly inconsistent with the 1st and 4th Amendments, just to cite a few.

^^^^As I said, not a peep out of johnforbes when he found out about this in 2006 because Bush did it, but now he's against it because of Obama.

But I have NO DOUBT that if Obama shut down the NSA program tomorrow, you knee jerk clowns who are against it today would be here saying Obama was destroying America by making it less secure and this showed what a terrible President he is.
That's the way you loud-mouth idiots are beneath all your blather: mere partisan tools.

Liberals were against it then and they're against it now for the same reasons.
Not one liberal here has supported Obama on this program, but still you try to blame us for what you did.
How do you clowns even face yourselves in the morning?

GW may have signed the PA, but there wasn't that much opposition from the Demos. In fact almost all of them in the Senate voted for it. So there's plenty of blame to go around. The only guy that voted against it in the Senate was Feingold. The House had only 66 Demos oppose. At the time 9/11 was fresh in everyone's mind. So the libs then thought it was a good idea too.

If it was such a great concern to libs that the PA was an excuse to abuse power. Then they should have stopped Obama from extending it in 2011, and just let it expire. By then it was clear the PA was now in the wrong hands.

They shouldn't just continue targeting conservative groups who are violating the law, they should escalate investigations and begin prosecution of conservative political groups transparently masquerading as social welfare groups.

Those who think it is no issue because they are liberal will rue the day when their favorite politicians are out of power.

Using the IRS for political purposes was bad when Nixon did it, and Hillary's list of enemies, and Obama's misue of the IRS is just as bad.

Calm down, Forbes.

Uncle Sam has been snooping on phone calls pretty much since the phone was invented. If you didn't know about this before Snowdon came along, you get what you deserve.

As far as your hysteria over the IRS? Well, if a group calling itself "Tea Party Patriots Against Obama," or some similar idiocy tries to claim they are some kind of "social welfare" group deserving of tax-exempt status, then they should be prosecuted and removed from the general populace out here and put in the general populace of a prison. It is what it is and that's what it is; They're trying to break the law and should be punished.

Chairman Issa knows this. It's why he's not pushing it beyond a Fox News dog and pony show that is designed solely to rile up the ignorati base of the GOP.

After when the transcripts revealed that a supervisor who is conservative republican was responsible for the IRS investigations, you would think that Issa would give up.

Now he would rather go after the FBI than the supervisor...

If this were Jeopardy, the correct response would be "What might a fence post say?"

They are not liberal, you moron.
Bush was not a liberal.
Anyone running such a program is not a liberal.
Liberals wanted this stopped before it started.
They still want it stopped.
It was people like you who cheered or stood by silently and let it happen without a whimper.
The Democrats in Congress who voted for it were also authoritarians or else they knew that a vote against it would mean Republicans (who now pretend to be against it though they all voted for it) would use a vote for liberty against the Democrats in the next election by claiming they were "soft on terrorism."
Anyone pushing this kind of program is an authoritarian.
Authoritarians are not liberals.

The joke about you, johnforbes, is that while you claim to be appalled at the program, at the same time I would give odds that you think Snowden is a traitor for telling you about it.
Why do I think this?
Because of your track record as a first class hypocrite.

Calm down, Clownhicker.

And learn how to discuss; suggesting others "calm down" is a tedious old debate ploy implicitly suggesting others are hysterical. They aren't; they merely have different opinions.

Power tends to corrupt, as Acton knew.

As I said, who cares who started the NSA system of using alogrithms to monitor all phone calls, email, etc?

It is wrong if it was started by the man in the moon.

It was wrong if it was Bush.

It would be wrong is Saint Ronnie of Reagan started it too.

^^^^^Anyone need more proof that johnforbes is senile?
He can't tell the difference between Grog and me when it's clearly right in front of him.

Notice how johnforbes ignored the bit about being appalled by the NSA program while also thinking Snowden is a traitor?
Why? Because he would have to reveal his hypocrisy again.

And learn how to discuss, johnny.
Copy-and-pasting your own previous off-point platitudes is not discussion.
It is the refuge of a simple mind.
This is not a liberal program and liberals didn't like it then or now, yet you continue to blame liberals for it.
