Helicopter rescues all 52 passengers from stranded ship in Antarctica. All 52 passengers who were stranded aboard an ice-locked ship in Antarctica for more than a week were rescued by helicopter early Thursday, officials said. The Akademic Shokalskiy sent out a distress call on Christmas morning after it became surrounded by sea ice while on a scientific mission more than 1,700 miles south of Australia.

The scientific team on board had been recreating Australian explorer Douglas Mawson's 1911 to 1913 voyage to Antarctica with the purpose of proving the ice was thinner than when Mawason sailed the same route in 1911. Amazing the team ended up proving the ice is much thicker, wile Mawason successfully sailed that same route in a smaller boat, not even the world's best ice breakers could get through the area. The Captain of the Aurora Australis ice-breaker estimated the ice to be 15 feet thick and recalled that 10 years ago his ship would have been able to cut through the ice since it was less than 8 feet thick. He warned that if the ice continue to expand at the current rate there will be major disruptions of shipping routes in the coming years.

Yep, Global cooling predictions failed in the 70's and Global warming prediction have failed, so now it's Global climate change, no way their predictions can be wrong now. Any change any where, proves man caused it, they're just kicking themselves in the ass for not thinking of it before this. The scientist who headed up the voyage that got stuck in the ice is actually saying the thicker than expected ice actually proves the ice is melting and that world governments should invest in his carbon refinery discovery.

What's amazing is that so many educated people initially fell goose step in line accepting false data and disregarding factual proven data that didn't support the man made global "cooling" "warming" "changing" agendas. They ignored history and pretended changes in the climate never happened before the industrial revolution.

The leader of the Antarctic global warming expedition that has been mired in thick Antarctic ice for more than a week and is finally facing a helicopter rescue attempt, is claiming that expanding sea ice is consistent with man-made global warming theory.

Chris Turney, a professor of climate change at Australia’s University of New South Wales (c.turney@unsw.edu.au) “remained adamant that sea ice is melting, even as the boat remained trapped in frozen seas,”.

Turney went on to explain the importance of Countries investing in cleaner air. “I set up a carbon refining company called Carbonscape which has developed proven technology to fix carbon from the atmosphere and make a host of green bi-products, helping reduce greenhouse gas levels.”

What Turney didn't mention is that he set up Carbonscape with a 8 million dollar grant from the Environmental Protection Agency and stands to make 100's of millions if Governments buy his product.

Antarctic rescue ship now stuck in ice

The Chinese icebreaker which helped transport passengers away from a stranded Antarctic ship has itself become stuck in ice. A ship which was used to rescue by helicopter 52 people from a trapped Antarctic ship has now found itself in need of rescue – after it got stuck in heavy ice. Among those rescued are members of Global Footprint Network, Greenpeace, Earth Watch, and Climate Justice Now.

Who in hell is going to paying for all of this and why is the media just calling them "voyagers" and avoiding mentioning what their global warming mission was?

On the plus side, Obama -- and his pals and kids and dogs -- have been enjoying the sun in Hawaii for 17 days on the taxpayer dime.

Surely Obama is weary after another year spent telling lie after lie after lie.

But he could have gone to Chicago, where he bought the lot near his house in a crooked deal involving Rezko.

Or he could have remained in his public mansion, or his taxpayer-funded Camp David.

Instead, he is costing the taxpayer 3 million per day in Hawaii at a time when U-6 real unemployment remains above 13 percent.

OK, for discussion purposes.....if the earth is warming due to manmade causes.....so what?

Please explain the terrifying results you expect.
How do you know that the earth will not be BETTER due to the warmer temps? Maybe we will have an abundance of crops that will cure all the world's hunger.....something you advocate I am sure.

So, tell me please, what is the downside of warming, in your mind, and how do you know that warming will be "worse"; will be a "bad thing"?

Record cold across the United States, ice expanding around the world, thank God for man made warming, imagine how cold the world would be without it, millions would be dying of either starvation or freezing. The Northeast would be under ice and crops in California would be the thing of the past, we would all have to survive on fish until the ice got so thick forcing us to eat each other. The center of the earth would be millions of degrees "minus".

So there you have it, had it not been for "man made warming" we would all be cannibals by now. :roll:
