Announcing his enrollment Monday, the White House called it a symbolic show of Obama’s support for the fledgling exchanges where millions of Americans must buy insurance or face a penalty. Ironically, it also served as a reminder of just how complex and sometimes daunting the process can be. The president enrolled in a health care plan made available by the Affordable Care Act on the D.C. marketplace,” White House spokesman Eric Schultz said in an email. As commander in chief, the president receives his health care through the military, so his new coverage will go unused.


“The complicated nature of the president’s case required an in-person sign-up,” the White House said.

White House officials noted that for security reasons, the president’s personal information is not readily available in government databases that the exchanges use to verify identities and check eligibility for tax subsidies.

Bullshit, they didn't use the website because they know it's not secure. Pretending the system wouldn't be able to check eligibility for tax subsidies is why they didn't use the website is lame, why in the hell would he need to do that? He knows he doesn't qualify for subsidies...or does he feel receive them because of his race? The only reason he would sign up is for a photo op, no other reason since the policy he got doesn't allow he use of his doctors or hospital, Obama even admitted he won't be using it. :lol:

Symbolism over substance. This is the standard tactic of the left, they always use it because it never fails to arouse their dull witted constituents. It never matters if something actually works, it only matters that they say how much they care.
The problem is that so many of their good intentions have disastrous unintentional consequences.
