Political discussions about everything

I hope everyone puts their political partisanship aside over this holiday season. Hearing some people complain about the poor receiving food assistance in the form of food stamps while at the same time stuffing their faces with turkey spoils the meaning of Thanksgiving. I hope we can keep this thread free of political attacks and be thankful for what we have and respect those that need help.

I grew up doing manual labor for less than the minimum wage ($1). Having been one of them, I respect the poor, but only if they seek to better themselves where possible.

There are almost 48 million on food stamps. Many of them are merely gaming the system.

We should all be grateful for what we have, and we should all ask ourselves whether we deserve our good fortune.

Did Kerry deserve to get money by marriage to 2 rich women? Did Bush Jr deserve his wealthy family?

As JFK noted, life is unfair.

John, I had asked that everyone put politics aside, this is not the time to fault those who need help feeding their families. Just be grateful we can help them through their rough times.

Happy Turkey Day weekend to everyone.

Sorry little wannabe faux. You are so pathetic you have to put out your little self aggrandizing tail at every instant. Have a good weekend anyway. Though, it must be very difficult with such low self esteem.

Alogicalman, you did ask people to set aside politics, but your own posting was drenched in politics (as you were surely aware).

In the same spirit, I'd like to ask people to set aside politics while they are condemning Obama's socialism.

By the way, admitting that a person was very poor when young is hardly self-aggrandizing.

If Bilbo had ever been poor, and had ever done one day of manual labor, he would know that.

Bilbo is a turkey, at this special time of year, and at all other times.

Bilbo actually believes that his opinions on politics are Objective Truth.

He is that ignorant of epistemology.

Hey, ignorant faux. Let's here from you again on how "objective" and "subjective" are no different. Then, maybe, you can work on "analytic" or some other words that you need to change in order to fool yourself into thinking you are something more than a delusional troll.

Bilbo's "education" is indeed faux.

Bilbo actually believes that his opinions on politics are Objective Truth.

He, she, or it is that ignorant of epistemology.
