Who would have thought, the price we were told to start up Obamacare would end up costing more than what the Government told us?
CGI Federal, the company who originally won the contract back in 2011 to set up the flagship technology portion of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) estimated the cost was expected to run “up to” $93.7 million. Obama assured everyone the $93.7 was a worse case scenario and that everyone shouldn't get to excited at that amount. Well it's two years later and the exact cost to build Healthcare.gov, according to U.S. government records, has been $634,320,919 paid to CGI. To top it off the system doesn't work and you'll guess what CGI and Obama say the solution to fixing it is...take a wild ass guess!

It's not even an American company, Obama awarded the contract to the Canadian firm ran by one of the richest liberals in world.
A Canadian tech firm that has provided service to that country’s single-payer health care system is behind the glitch-ridden United States national health care exchange site healthcare.gov.

CGI Federal is a subsidiary of Montreal-based CGI Group. With offices in Fairfax, Va., the subsidiary has been a darling of the Obama administration, which since 2009 has bestowed it with $1.4 billion in federal contracts, according to USAspending.gov.

Obama's former green jobs advisor Van Jones, is under contract at CGI's Fairfax Va office as a Government Contract Specialist which has raised many questions since the original ACA contract with CGI has ballooned over 600% of it's original estimated cost just two years ago.

600%?? I'm outraged!

Pretty soon those guys are going to be in the same category as Lockheed Martin and GE.

But it IS funny that the guys who have refused to fund the ACA are surprised that Democrats might feel they need to "spend more" money it to make it work.
And RealJustme is so stupid he doesn't understand that the scope of work also increased in that time from the original estimate.
Mindless drones, as always.

Obamacare will work exactly as the President intended. Already signs of success are becoming evident. A lady fearful of being fined, used the government hotline to find affordable healthcare insurance. She is quite happy with her find and enrolled immediately. Her prize.......for a mere $125 a month, which is all she can afford, she has a basic plan with a $15,000 deductible ! Obama is looking out for all of us.....the insurance companies love him!
#30746
So sillydaddy tells us a story about a woman who once had no insurance but now has catastrophic insurance to avoid bankruptcy if she gets seriously ill?

Why, that's outrageous.
Truly terrible.
She should be freeloading on the hospital instead.
Yes, an utter failure.
#30753
If a company signed a contract with a private business to complete the project under $97 million and then came back and billed that private business $634 million for a system that doesn't work I assure that private business wouldn't be asking "well much more you figure you need to get it to work?" But our Government has done just that.
#30754
Yes, the conservative capitalist hawks in Congress have been happily building jet fighters and nuclear submarines that way for decades.

For some reason you don't post here outraged about the horrifically inflated cost of defense because your guys like it that way and get filthy rich off our backs.

But if some poor person gets $400 worth of food stamps to feed his family, you spit and sputter insist it must stop.

Dude you're the one defending Obama on spending 600% more than it was suppose to cost, not me. I'm betting Van Jones and Obama worked out some really good contracts while in the steam room.

My point is that insurance companies see Obamacare as a bird nest on the ground. The corruption....on both sides....is just beginning. But there are people that are the hard working poor and not dead beats or freeloaders who are being forced to pay insurance companies for what amounts to be worthless policies.

"But there are people that are the hard working poor and not dead beats or freeloaders who are being forced to pay insurance companies for what amounts to be worthless policies."-sillydaddy

So sillydaddy is saying that catastrophic insurance policies are "worthless"?
That these people should not insure unless they can buy the 'Cadillac' policy?

Tell that to people who lost their homes to floods, fire, or earthquake.
That's what flood insurance is: catastrophic coverage that is "worthless".....until it isn't.
All insurance is the same in this respect: until you need it, you get nothing out of it besides some peace of mind.

If the woman didn't have catastrophic coverage, sillydaddy would be here berating her for her lack of foresight and her 'liberal let the government take care of me' attitude.
Now she gets some coverage and the sillydaddies of the Right are criticizing what allowed her to get it at an affordable price.
It is a perfectly acceptable thing for people to choose to self-insure up the the level they consider to be "catastrophic".

johnforbes is so dimwitted he doesn't have even a vague understanding that capitalism could possibly have a negative aspect.
'Let 'er rip and anyone who gets crushed didn't deserve to live anyway.'

Anyone who suggests that the idea of capitalism isn't somehow sacred becomes a fool to johnforbes.

"Nobody suggested no government;"-johnforbes

You're absolutely right, nobody suggested "no government;"
I know I didn't.
So why did you bring it up and pretend I suggested any such thing.
It has nothing to do with what I was talking about.

This is my problem when talking with someone who lacks any critical thinking skills.
The clown brings up the most absurd non sequiturs.
#30802
Does it really take a genius to figure out that the neoclowns are trying to shut down Obamacare because it will be a smashing success? If it was as bad as they say it will be, then they would never had said anything...

Where's Issa???

There should be an investigation of the IT contractor who set up the website!!!

Liberals have no faith in people, and instead they have a very strange faith in big government.

Any big governmental entity is inefficient, vast, lumbering.

In the instant case, liberals are arguing in favor of an Obamacare which hasn't even started, and yet they trust it to contain many marvels.

Faith in big government is more astounding than any religious belief ever was.

Very true. Obama yesterday said the ACA is now part of America and Americans can never go back he declared it a gigantic success. It doesn't matter to him that it's costing untold jobs, raising costs, will negatively effect the health care we receive and the system doesn't work, it's a success to Obama because it gives him more control over citizens. That's what the ACA is all about, control why dead brain Obamabots can't understand that is beyond me.

But our Government under Obama has done just that.
