Sen. Ted Cruz began a talk-a-thon on the Senate Tuesday afternoon and vowed to keep speaking “until I am no longer able to stand” as he tries to halt President Obama’s health care law.

I agree 100%, the final straw for me was when those who implemented the Law, exempted themselves and their staffs from that very Law. How can all three branches of the government be exempted from the Law of the land and then those very people claim it will be good "for us"?

It's tyranny per se and every American should stand up and demand that if we must endure this Law, that all citizens should be treated equal and that no man should be held above a Law of the Land.

Everyone who reads this forum, liberal and conservative well knows that after the 2014 elections Obama will declare millions of union workers also exempt from this Law, he's hoping that he gains control of both the Senate and the House so there will be no stopping his tyranny.

Cruz has inspired the House to act.

The House Republican leadership announced it's now seriously considering attaching a one-year delay of Obamacare’s individual mandate to the Senate bill to avert a government shutdown, according to senior GOP aides.

If House Republicans decide to go this route, it would all but provoke a government shutdown, since Senate Democrats might not even schedule a vote on a bill that includes that provision, Senate leadership staffers say. Even if the Senate schedules a vote, there might not be time to move the legislation through the slow-moving chamber.

I suspect that's exactly what he wants since Obamacare isn't ready to pull the trigger next week and go live, they found to many issues that have to be fixed, a forced delay would be a double blessing for Obama, he can say hey we were ready to go plus the real negative effects won't be seen before the 2014 elections.

What Republicans should be demanding is that all exemptions be removed, the Law either applies equally to everyone or to no one. Once the exemptions are removed give funding for one year only with a required vote to be taken in 2014 to continue funding. When everyone sees what a goat screw Obamacare is and even Congress has to suffer the medical care of the citizens they will change the Law next year.

Meltdown! Senators' phones unplugged. WASHINGTON — Following the epic, 21-hour speech by Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, supporting the defunding of Obamacare, either voters made so many calls to establishment Republicans and Democrats that their phone lines melted, or they leaders took their phones off the hook.


It was the same story with the man who was the face of the GOP in the 2008 elections, former GOP presidential candidate Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz. His phone was off the hook, too. Callers got a message stating his voicemail box was full.

The Arizona senator apparently had other matters on his mind during the Cruz speech, tweeting, “Final episode of #Broadchurch tonight – one of the most entertaining shows on TV right now.” That prompted conservative commentator Michelle Malkin to tweet, “Meanwhile, McCain is tweeting about a TV show. See the problem here, America?”

Callers to Minority Whip Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, also got a message saying the line was busy, but at least those callers were sent to voicemail.

Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., who has called Cruz a “fraud” for his efforts to defund Obamacare, said Thursday supporters of the Texas senator have been bombarding his office with “vile” phone calls.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said "the people have it wrong on this one", she explained the Affordable Care Act will be good for Americans, in the mean time calls to her office are answered with a busy signal.
