If it was up to me the only gun law would be to actually punish those who use guns during a crime and that you have to an adult to buy one. As it is now in D.C. criminals who use guns during crimes are processed and let right back on the streets while law abiding citizens aren't permitted to have a weapon for self protection.

Concerning the Ft Hood shooting, sure the media was quick to pounce on a military member being involved, but only FOX news reported that he was a Muslim who shouted Allahu Akbar as he killed the people. In fact MSNBC denounced FOX's reporting as being anti-muslim.

CBS News and NBC News retracted reports about the identification of the Washington Navy Yard shooter on Monday, just minutes after each network reported that the suspect in question was a Navy chief petty officer named Rollie Chance.

CBS's John Miller reported that Chance was a suspect before 1 p.m. on Monday. NBC News later reported the same information and continued to do so past 1 p.m., even after Miller reported that the initial reports about Chance were wrong.

Finally, at 1:05 p.m., NBC political director Chuck Todd tweeted: "NBC News: we are now NOT reporting name of shooter our initial information was wrong; retracting that report. deleting those tweets."
