What does the new darling the American right fringe, Putin, say about Kerry's statement?
Putin rammed Kerry's statement up Obama's ass and broke it off. Obama kind of liked it. Next thing you know Obama be asking Hillary to chime in and take over for Kerry.

It is a sad statement that Americans are finding Putin more credible and competent.

But Kerry and Obama, who both came to fame as anti-war candidates, have been very foolish in recent weeks.

Obama's ego has been badly bruised by the Russian. Putin has just given Obama a lesson in foreign affairs......i.e. never bullshit a bullshitter better than you. Obama will not let this stand. He won't stop until he gets his war.
God save us all !

Obama won't get his war, even the Germans have come out and said they evidence (recordings) intercepted of Assad ordering his military leaders not to use chemical weapons when they asked to do so. They also have evidence rebels have not only used chemical weapons but also were caught on the Turkey border with over 2 pounds (enough to kill a mid size city) of it. It's clear to the international community both Obama and Kerry have been "massaging" the intelligence like the Obama Admin did in Benghazi to the point it's inaccurate. Evidence shows that both the rebels and possible a rogue military unit have used chemical weapons...and the Obama Administration are holding this back from the American public.

Obama is in trouble.

On the plus side, Democrats such as Bob Casey and Donna Brazile are still contending that we must strike Syria.

Say, if I look up Bob Casey's background, or Donna's, will I find that they were in combat?

Surely they wouldn't just be hypocrites urging others to jump into the mess in Syria while remaining on their own adipose posteriors back home?

"Say, if I look up Bob Casey's background, or Donna's, will I find that they were in combat?"-johnforbes

johnforbes is really on he ball this time.
But when W.Bush was pushing to invade Iraq, what did we hear from johnforbes about hypocrisy and combat experience?

Nothing. Not a peep.

The real hypocrite here is johnforbes.

Clown hick, you are absolutely wrong.

I opposed the invasion of Iraq. In my opinion, it would have been more wise to have let Saddam twist in the wind, enduring endless UN inspections and attempts to isolate him with non-military means.

Sadly, I was correct about Iraq. It cost the US a lot of time and money, and Obama left.

Was Cheney a draft-dodger? Yes, he got the same number of deferments as Biden.

Bush Jr. probably joined the Air Guard as a method of avoiding the draft, but it was more honorable to take some step than to do what Cheney and Biden did.

johnforbes says I am "completely wrong" and then proceeds to ignore my point entirely.
Which shows that I was in fact completely right. He couldn't refute my point. He only tried to bury me in bullshit in an attempt to make people forget the point; an old lawyer's trick.

He never said a word against Bush based on an utter lack of combat experience.
He never said we shouldn't listen to Bush's case for invading Iraq based on a complete lack of combat experience.
Instead, he was against it for several other irrelevant reasons.
Likewise, he never said we should listen to Powell's case before the UN based on his combat experience.
That's because the combat experience is irrelevant, particularly now when the intervention being discussed does not put any troops on the ground to die.

You must be a seriously incompetent lawyer, johnforbes.
You can never recognize a relevant point from an irrelevant one.

"Bush Jr. probably joined the Air Guard as a method of avoiding the draft, but it was more honorable to take some step than to do what Cheney and Biden did."-johnforbes

Why is that more honorable than getting an straight up deferment to escape service?
The motive is the same. They didn't want to die in a pointless war. They wanted other people to do the dying in their places.
They were all weasels, and they still are. None is more honorable than another. It's just another case of the rich avoiding paying the cost of their policies while they force everyone else to pay.

My position on Iraq would require a person to have an IQ above 100 to understand.

No, I wouldn't have invaded, and said that many times. And said it in more important places than this mudpit.

It isn't absolutely essential for a president to have combat experience to go to war. But it helps to grasp the import.

Also, the situation in Iraq was very different, with world intel agencies universally saying Saddam had WMDs. And he did have them. We know that because he used them against his own people. What happened to them? Were they few in number? Moved? Nobody knows, just as nobody knows the situation in Syria.

I've never been a Powell fan. All along, he was promoted early for three reasons. He was a pretty sharp customer, but he was also promoted based on Political Correctness and on being nominally in the same party as his mentors. However, just as soon as Obama ran, Powell instantly started supporting Obama and his positions. Conveniently, that came at a time when Powell's mentors could no longer promote him to bigger jobs.

Combat experience is never irrelevant to the decision whether your command consigns some kid to die. That is true whether it is Air Force only from a distance or a close quarters fight.

Going into the Guard to avoid the draft, or enlisting, these are time-tested and honorable ways. Kerry enlisted in the Navy because he knew he would be drafted.

My uncle was a college student about to be drafted in WW II. He decided not to wait and instead enlisted in the Marines, where with the 5th he landed on Red Beach. Eventually, he saw the flag raised over Iwo Jima.

Bush Jr was more honorable because he did expose himself to some military risk by being a pilot. My pal Bill flew out of Udorn in Thailand during the war. If you've ever taken a joy ride with a really good military pilot, you'll know it is a risky business.

One other thing which make Obama's adventure into Syria fail was this: His notion came about at a time when everybody in America had 10 years of experience with Iraq and Afghanistan.

At this moment Kerry is on his way to Geneva to fuck things up.
This is the coward who fabricated injuries for medals and to get himself removed from the combat zone after less than 4 months, his crew said he broke under stress, Kerry's request to be removed from combat was granted. He left the crew on his boat to return to safety although there was no physical reason to do so. He then fabricated lies about those brave enough to remain in the combat zone. As much as I dislike Obama, Kerry is worse.
