The document showed Cruz was born in 1970 in Calgary, Canada. His mother, Eleanor, was born in Delaware and was a U.S. citizen and his father, Rafael, was born in Cuba. Cruz had said in interviews prior to his Senate election that he is a U.S. citizen because his mother was born in the USA.

"Because I was a U.S. citizen at birth, because I left Calgary when I was 4 and have lived my entire life since then in the U.S., and because I have never taken affirmative steps to claim Canadian citizenship, I assumed that was the end of the matter," Cruz said in a statement released Monday.

What I did post, and will repeat here for your edification, is that ALL presidential candidates should be affirmatively constrained to furnish proof of citizenship along with all tax records, all educational records, etc.

Let's go back over that -- ALL candidates, from ANY political party, in ANY election year.

Look at the situation with Obama. He has been president 5 years, but he still conceals his scholastic aptitude tests.

To this day, nobody even knows whether Obama took even one introductory course in economics, and anybody who dares ask such a basic question is called a racist.

They're completely irrelevant to anything besides whether or not someone gets into this or that college.
We already know what colleges Obama attended, so the scores are meaningless at this point, just as they were meaningless before he was elected.

And what difference does it make now whether Obama took an introductory course in economics?
He's President, he's been President, and he will be President for a couple more years.

The only person obsessed with SAT scores -- or, more to the point here, LSATs -- are the Obamas who hide them.

As to relevance, they are, of course, quite germane because, unlike grades, they can actually be indicative.

This is particularly true given affirmative action, grade inflation, etc.

Given 5 years of economic incompetence on Obama's part, it is highly relevant whether he ever had even a scintilla of education in economics. However, it is true that sad experience suggests not.
