Let's see, if I recall, they have been closed by every President on his birthday whenever there has been a credible threat of terrorist attacks in multiple Middle Eastern countries starting on his birthday.
It's uncanny how universally consistent they have been on this point.
I'm glad Obama has been maintaining this historical U.S. policy.

The Obama Administration had all kind of warning on Benghazi including requests for additional security, what did they do, they actually "decreased" security and when attacked they told the military to stand down let them die then went to bed. The next day they apologized to Muslims for a short video that had been put on utube 6 months earlier and told the American people it's time to move on, nothing there. Now on Obama's birthday he celebrates by shutting down all the Middle East embassies letting terrorists know we are open game and Obama will do nothing to fight back.

Do you really think the threat will go away after Obama's birthday? What then? The reason they are so bold is that they openly attacked our embassy killed our Ambassador, went on local television to brag about it and what did Obama do? Obama arrested a guy who made a movie that offend Islam and actually covered for the terrorists involved. The terrorists involved had to have been in awe of Obama's actions, they've decided Obama is on their side.

Come to think of it maybe the planned terrorist attack is a present to Obama! He enabled the terrorist to attack one of your embassies, he held our forces back while they were doing it, and then he blew a smoke screen to cover for them, not one of the hundred or so involved have been touched a year later.

Knowing terrorism was still hot, Obama lied about Benghazi.

They had to do the closures because the political fallout woulda been bad had another ambassador been killed.

“Four years ago President Obama gave a much heralded speech as outreach to the Muslim world,” Kristol said. “And now, four years later we are closing embassies throughout the Muslim world. A year ago, the president said al-Qaida is on the run. And now we seem to be on the run.”

“I’m not criticizing the decision to close the embassies. That’s probably the right thing to do for the sake of trying to save American lives and others, but it’s a terrible thing,” he added. “That you know, just a year ago boasting al-Qaida is on the run and Osama bin Laden is dead.”

Michael McCaul (R-TX), chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, said, "The administration's call to close these embassies . . . was actually a very smart call." USA Today also cited Seth Jones, the associate director of the International Security and Defense Policy Center at the RAND Corp., who said the closures are a result of "a high threat level based on credible intelligence."

Even Rep. Peter King (R-NY), who leads the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence and who has previously been critical of the Obama administration's response to the Benghazi attacks, noted, "what they are doing now is what has to be done. They'd be derelict if they were not. And you know we can't criticize them for doing too little with Benghazi and now criticize them for doing too much."

Fox News has repeatedly pushed falsehoods and lies about the Benghazi attacks, with contributors praying for evidence of a "cover-up" and calling for further probes into the attacks despite the fact that there have already been at least six different investigations, none of which have found any evidence that the response to Benghazi was politically motivated or hid the realities of the attacks.

Fox's attack echoes numerous other conservative media outlets turning the embassy closures into political criticism of the Obama administration.

Curious that Obama ordered embassies closures in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and even Madagascar yet leaves embassies open in Lebanon and Pakistan. What's his plan? Surely Saudi Arabia and Kuwait will feel insulted that we don't trust their security and we may pay for that with higher oil prices.. Madagascar? they are a very low security risk....so what is going on?
