How many civil liberties were overlooked in Boston?#22468

The government turned Boston into a Police State searching people homes without a warrent locking down an entire city refusing to allow Americans out of their homes.. There were tons of laws broken are we gonna just overlook this?

Searches were voluntary. The "Shelter at Home" was voluntary. Many people violated the "Shelter at Home" and they were either ignored ort asked to go home. Annnnnnd, No the police do not need warrants in a safety emergency.

The Constitution protects against UNREASONABLE search and seizure and the law has held to that standard both in this case and over our history.

He's not here.. No I'm not being force to say he's not here and No you can't look in my home without a warrent should have been enough.. But they weren't given the freedom to say no.. They went House to House looking..

Police suspect he is in your home.

You are absurd. Absolutism never benefited anybody. Never was intended by the founders. Never has been useful, good or beneficial.

That would only allpy if police was chasing a suspect and he ran into a house.. That's far different then what we had here.. You had police officers shut down an entire city and went house to house going in to look. That's crossing the line.. I bet when the ACLU looks at it they'll agree with me also.

The shutdown was voluntary

How many people refused to let the cops into their homes?

So, there you go - voluntary shutdown of areas of the city and voluntary inspections of personal property that wasn't refused.
