I think that I have found a way out of the morass this country is in,,,just amend the Constitution (Article II, Section4,)

The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.

Simply change it to read:

Interesting, but the problem has always been how do you get corrupt politicians to remove other corrupt politicians and prevent it all from just being attacks of one political party on another.

This simply does not address any real problem or provide any real solution, though it might stroke some egos.

Screw politicians removing other politicians, the people have that power every time you step up to vote. The problem is we have 47% of the population who are going to vote along the liberals line no matter who runs for office, hell even Weiner is starting to rise again.

For once Justme, we agree. I'm getting so frustated by the actions of (write your own branch or elected reps here) that I am becoming a pestimist about the future of this country.

I'll admit that I'm not the most brillient person on politics, but it seems to me that when the country is in the shape it is now you have to get people back to work, This would solve many of our problems. There are 158 million Americans of employable age that are unemployed (BLS statistics.) If I was President I sure wouldn't want that many people with a lot of time on their hands trying to figure how to get even with me. With the record of Congress, I'll bet that Congressmen and Senators don't feel safe walking in their own districts. Check out exactly what Congress really passes. A bill praising Miss So & So for becoming National Corn Cob Queen, etc., etc,

I live about 15 miles outside of Baltimore, I haven't been inside the city limits of Baltimore in 10 years (I think it's still there.) Baltimore has been found that 1 out of 8 of it's citizens are drug addicts. You cannot convince me that we can;t stop drugs from coming into this country, If not, how come Cuba and Mexico doesn't rule the US? Our drug policy has failed and it seems like I'm one of the few that will admit it. Our nation's solution? Send the drug offenders to jail. A jail that is run by a private company that keeps it's eye on the bottom line.

Bottom line...I have little compassion for the ones who constantly complain about government; they keep sending the same bastards back each time. Many voters define themselves by party and would rather die than vote a candidate from the other party, no matter how qualified he was, Then there are the mindless freaks who have no idea what a candidate stands for. They put signs on their lawn, campaign for him, work the polls for him and stand cheering and glassed eyed when he gives his victory speech. They don'r realize that they are being used and the candidate doesn't know their name and wouldn't care to learn it.

The very people who are Obama's core supporters are the ones who he has harmed the most during his time in office but yet they still ask him "how high" when he says jump.

I would like to see the party systems go away and people just vote on the person rather than a party. Other than that we would also do much better if we hired our politicians after reviewing their applications, background checks and interview process.

Sadly I see no hope for change, politicians are the problem not the solution but zombies will continue to vote them back into office.

Ah, Justme. But the information on each member of Congress, the President, the Governor, the state legislature and the party platforms are readily available, IN DETAIL, on the Internet. The American voter is just too damned lazy to look it up and is married to this or that party. He knows his party can do no wrong. Now religious groups have entered politics, If you don't pass bills that fit our religious beliefs we'll shut the country down. I remember what I heard years ago, "People always get the kind of government they deserve."

Think about it. How many of these clowns would be in office if there was a truly informed electorate. Much of the blame has to be placed on the media. You don't have a news program anymore. What you have is a bunch of talking heads discussing why you should think this way or that. MSNBC is Obama's personal TV station (twenty-four hours explaining what the GOP did to Obama today) with CNN a close second. Fox thinks any Democrat should be hung from the nearest tree.

The truth is the average voter makes his or her mind up based upon the last sound bite of information they hear before they fill in the circles.

You could go before any High School class and mention that Hillary has our job market in great shape then ask them how they feel she's doing as Vice President and most of them will say "She's doing a great job, especially with the job market" It's also like that on most of our streets, there's the problem.

Congress acts the way it does because the people focus on division. There is a loud minority that plays on the fears of a fear filled majority that is constantly trying to impose religious moral autocracy on all of us. As long as they impose their religious moral autocracy on us all we will never focus on the economic theft by the wealthy and powerful. Thus, it is as the wealthy and powerful want it to be. A plutocratic state ruled by the wealthy at the expense of the working person and their families. The key is to give each other freedom, liberty, equality under the law, and to be tolerant of those who differ and to be totally intolerant of the intolerant bigots and racists. Then we can focus on real economics. Both the Senate and the House have operational rules that gaurntee that both these bodies are anti-democratic.

Filibuster abuse and single Senator holds in the Senate.

Member of Congress easily hide behind these and other anti-democratic rules.

State political parties have gerrymandered voting districts. Yes, Republicans have been much more succesful in this but both parties have participated and both parties benefit.

The people lose from all these anti-democratic power plays. The solution is not in installing yet another autocracy, but in voting out your OWN parties representatives, and not with more autocratic and crazy people but with more moderate people. The teabaggers are an understandable result, but they are just part of the problem.

1 term limits, no other offices during life after honorably serving a full 1 term - limit of 6 years max - no life-long retirement.

That would solve the issue in one term, permanently.

One solution is to simple change the House and Senate rules.

Any Senator or any Representative can call for discussion or call for a vote at any time. You know, democracy.

All discussions are public. No back room deals. You know, these are public servants who represent US.

I'm surprised some Politician doesn't recommend all Bills be posted online five days before signing to allow the public to comment, and any Bill with Pork would be rejected, and no jobs in the White House for lobbyists, now that guy would get my vote.
