Actually, every problem we have today is directly related to people voting SELF over COUNTRY, and that's what allows those politicians to do anything they want. The people are to blame and only the people can correct their mistake.
You can try to pawn it off on the people, but people vote in every election that happens once every 2 or 6 years.
Yes, the people are responsible for putting them into office but the people can't force, coerce, buy off or otherwise influence the laws and policies they write and vote on while in office. And trying to fix or negate the laws and regulations after the fact almost never happens.
Those 545 people write laws to protect themselves and give themselves raises and benefits befitting a King or Queen
while the people suffer at their hands.
If wouldn't be so bad but those 545 people blatantly come back for re-election and pass the blame onto anyone but themselves, sad, very sad.
The damage those 545 people can do in 2 or 6 years is evident of the mess America is in today and will continue into the future but 9 of those people are put into office for life and are out when they decide to retire.
There are far too many people of limited intelligence who vote strictly party lines, Democrat or Republican as their parents did and that is the saddest part of the election process.
Maybe just as hunting licenses and driving licenses are issued, you can't vote until you prove you at least know your own senators and representatives in your own state along with all the local politicians in your district and state along with some of the current events taking place locally, nationally and internationally.
Late night talk shows on the major TV channels do street questions and most if not all those questioned don't have a clue as to what is happening daily let alone every 2 or 6 years.
Until you educate the people, 545 people will rule the roost.
