That's the latest number I'm hearing.

We have lost some 6,000 American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan in combat. The numbers for noncombat deaths add many more. The number of civilians killed in both countries number in the tens of thousands. The numbers for the wounded and injured on all sides is probably in the hundreds of thousands. And more to come.

The actual combat deaths to defeat them was only a fraction of that, the mistake was leaving our troops over there after kicking their asses to rebuild their Country and try and win their hearts, that's where 90% of the deaths and expenses happened. Hopefully we learned out lesson, if they attack us, go in with everything we have, destroy their military then go home, all in 90 days. If they attack us again, go in with everything we have, destroy their military and this time their political leadership, then go home, all in 30 days. They wouldn't attack us again and we would spar 90% of our loses and expenses. We have no business trying to win hearts or rebuild Countires, especially since we now don't even have money to keep criminals in jail or inspect meat our citizens need to survive, our Government fell apart be this years operating budget is only 4% more than last years.

Sadly, because of Obama's Terrorist Friendly Administration, our casualties increased under his rule, under his ROE changes that benefited the enemy, and his giving Al-Queda weapons and money.

I agree with RJM, we need to just bomb the shit out of places that attack us, sit off station and blast them, and pay their own people a reward for bringing us the heads of the leadership that sponsored the attacks against us - cheaper, less loss of life, quicker, easier.
