CHICAGO — At least five people were gunned down last night along in Chicago, including a 34-year-old man whose mother had already lost her three other children to shootings. With still one more day before January ends, the Chicago homicide rate in the first month of 2013 is off to its bloodiest start ever, Homicides already pushed past 40 by Jan. 28. In 2012 alone there were 506 murders in Chicago, murders have increased over 80% since Obama's former Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel took over as Mayor. One of Emanuel's first iniatives was to increase weapon bans and decrease the number of Officers on the street, he felt Officers were intimidating blacks so he ordered them to back off arresting gang members and put in place out reach programs. Money from the police department was shifted to financial assistance and aid programs.

Rahm inherited a mess and he's done a great job savings hundreds of lifes through his leadership, it would have been much worse had Rahm not taken the measures he did. The problem in Chicago is certian areas are way under funded causing some residents having to what they can just to get by. The black areas of the city have the worse schools and very few jobs are offered them so they're forced to live in poverity. The violence will only end when everyone in the city is given the same opportunities and that's what Rahm is trying to do.

A matter of fact, Rahm has just continued, and even made worse, the violence in the city, because he continues to make innocent people victims while empowering the criminal element against those innocent people.
