America has accepted that it OK to treat blacks different and reward them with special treatment based upon past inappropriate actions of whites as a "group". Now blacks a group have demonstrated inappropriate actions against whites and are 5 times more likely to commit a violent crime than whites. They are also 10 times more likely to steal from their neighbors.

So should America punish blacks as a group as whites have been punished, has the time come for affirmative action for whites in the education system and in hiring? Or is America not that progessive "yet"?

So who here is ready for a progressive discussion of involving the Government to right past wrongs by blacks through affirmative actions and mandate special treatment for whites?

I take it you're a conservative, I was trying take a progressive point of few on the subject. Many also think like you that it is indeed racist to treat one race different than another race just becaue of past actions of a race. So why have Americans tolerated the racists laws affording special privileges to blacks over the last 30 years?

Blacks have always been punished quicker and harder than whites. The high percentage of blacks in our jails is positive proof racism is still alive in America. The fact there are more whites accepted to universities is further proof of racism. We have a long way to go and unless the Goverment continues to get involved we'll never get there.

I don't think blacks are treated any differently than whites by the criminal justice system. By virtue of the crimes they commit, namely drug offenses, they just happen to be targeted by the police more frequently than whites.

The cops happen to enforce the drug laws more aggressively in the poor inner city neighborhoods than they do in the more well to do white suburban areas. My parents live in the NYC suburbs, and the cops are always busting the white kids, DUI, drugs in car, house parties; drugs/alcohol.

RJM has it correct. It is time to remove the special racial group AA privileges from blacks and impose racial group punishment on them. Maybe some reparations are due.

I also agree it is time to amend the past wrongs of AA discrimination against innocent whites by affording them the privileges. And since the hatred of the "new" America is now institutionalized and is directed at them, (young whites) there needs to be some legislation that will protect and benefit the young white population. Since their time has passed and they are the new minorities.

84% of the people targeted in NYPD stop and frisk program were black and latino even though they account for about 25% of the population. And about 90% of them were innocent.

It's time to do exactly what President Obama has proposed. Make all equal opportunity preferences and supports dependent only on economic situation and educational disadvantages. No race, no gender, no religion, no other compensations.

Economic disadvantages should yield economic support.
Educational disadvantages should yield compensating educational opportunities up to the point that the disadvantage is corrected.

If the person proves incapable or unwilling to progress all support should be removed.

Employers and others should be monitored, not so that they would give preferences to people from disadvantaged groups, but to punish those who discriminate against people from disadvantaged groups. Everyone should have the right to have unwarranted preferential treatment corrected.

Biblo I agree with everything you said except that's not what Obama proposed. His concept is that if the person proves incapable or unwilling to progress support should be increased to keep them dependant on the Government. The last thing Obama wants is blacks and poor not needing the Government to house and feed them. Keep them stupid and poor and they'll always vote Democrat.
