Political discussions about everything

My thought is I wonder why johnforbes takes an average state for gun deaths like Illinois and thinks it is somehow more terrible than the 26 other states that have even more gun deaths per 100,000 people each year.

And the bulk of those having even more gun deaths per yer per 100,000 people are largely Republican run states with Republican gun laws. Gee, what do these states have in common?

So why not start a thread about Mississippi, Louisiana, Wyoming, Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, or any of the other Republican states where people die at 50-100% greater rate from shootings than in Illinois?

And the answer is that those other horrible, more dangerous states are mostly run by Republicans, so hypocrite johnforbes isn't at all surprised at the high level of shootings in those states. Gunfire is just how Republicans settle disagreements I guess. It's pretty funny that he is only surprised enough to start a thread when a Democrat-run state has even a moderate rate of shooting deaths.

Well, once again johnforbes has posted a thread showing the inadequacy of current gun laws. We ALL agree on that point.

One can only conclude that johnforbes, like any sane person, wants stricter controls on guns. No sane person calls for fewer controls on guns, obviously, since that could only make things worse. More guns in the hands of more people can't possibly result in fewer gun deaths. It certainly can't result in fewer mass shootings. Besides, there are already more guns in America than there are people, so how could giving people even more guns possibly improve the situation? Apparently johnforbes is gunning for the silly showdown moniker "Two Gun johnny"

If the death rate from guns in Illinois really disturbs johnforbes so much that he has started yet another thread devoid of all thoughts about it, why doesn't he talk about it to Republicans in all the Republican-run states where the death rate from guns is much higher than it is in Illinois. Why doesn't Hypocritejohnny highlight the even greater inadequacy of gun laws in THOSE states with lax gun laws that result in even more gun deaths than the laws in Illinois?

I now predict even more personal attacks from johnforbes since he has no thoughts to offer on this topic.

As ever, we salute the intellectual honesty of the humble Mr. Forbes.

Even in the novel "Shane" (which was far better than the movie), the gunfighter notes that a gun is a tool -- no better or worse than the man using it.
