Political discussions about everything

"All 9 justices issued an extremely rare—even unanimous—statement. It details how and why the Supreme Court decides recusals on cases and other ethical issues. It is carefully written, well-reasoned, and entirely convincing. It should put to rest all the Democrats’ (fake, political) concerns about Supreme Court ethics.

Before very recently, it was rare to hear concerns about ethics at the Supreme Court. Democrat-appointed Supreme Court justices:

– taught overseas
– took trips with their friends (even an attorney with regular business before the Court)
– amended their ethics filings, after failing to disclose issues (including years of a spouse’s legal-related income)
– failed to recuse on matters
– even heard cases involving a spouse’s law firm

These were never treated as scandalous. We never heard a peep from the media—until now.

Democrat politicians and their lapdogs in the media are now politicizing and weaponizing judicial ethics. This is a political smear campaign to attack Republican-appointed justices with novel—and laughable—legal theories while ignoring the ethical issues with Democrat-appointed justices (like regularly taking undisclosed lavish trips with an attorney and Fortune 5 board member with regular business before the Court.)"

"While billionaire real estate mogul Harlan Crow was lavishing Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas with luxury gifts, Thomas voted to strike down federal tenant protections that might hurt the profits of Crow’s company.

Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas voted to end federal tenant protections that his billionaire benefactor’s company says threatened its real estate profit margins, according to corporate documents reviewed by the Lever. Thomas did not disclose his relationship with real estate billionaire Harlan Crow, nor did he recuse himself from the 2021 case, despite its potential impact on Crow Holdings.

Now, rent control — which Crow Holdings’ documents also say threatens the company’s business — could come before Thomas, and there is no indication he would recuse himself if it does."

"In August 2021, Thomas was one of the six justices who voted to strike down a federal administrative moratorium on evictions, originally enacted in September 2020 by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to halt the spread of COVID-19. In June, Thomas was one of four justices who voted to end the moratorium — but the majority voted to leave it in place because it was set to expire the following month.

In July, between the two rulings, Crow Holdings — which owns apartment buildings, student housing, and manufactured housing nationwide — was cited in congressional testimony for being one of the country’s most frequent eviction filers, despite the moratorium."-David Sirota

So Thomas HAS rendered opinions in favor of his friend's business and likely will do so again instead of recusing himself from the cases.

Who could have seen that coming?

"– taught overseas" This is not illegal or unethical. No one accused Thomas of this so it is merely a partisan red herring.
"– took trips with their friends (even an attorney with regular business before the Court)" This is not illegal as long as it is declared. Thomas didn't declare hundreds of thousands of dollars in gifts, which is illegal and unethical.
"– amended their ethics filings, after failing to disclose issues (including years of a spouse’s legal-related income)" No body criticized Thomas for amending his ethics filings when he was caught. Another partisan red herring.
"– failed to recuse on matters" No Justice has to "recuse on matters" dimwit. EVERY case is about "matters"
"– even heard cases involving a spouse’s law firm" This could possibly be wrong, but you didn't give any particulars so no one (including yourself) can criticize them for it without more information.

Try again, dimwit. And don't simply regurgitate more of your handler's unsupported propaganda.
