"The 2018 letter “In a private transaction in 2016, before the U.S. presidential election, Mr. Cohen used his own personal funds to facilitate a payment of $130,000 to Ms. Stephanie Clifford. Neither the Trump Organization nor the Trump campaign was a party to the transaction with Ms. Clifford, and neither reimbursed Mr. Cohen for the payment directly or indirectly.”

The letter goes on to explain that Cohen did not make any in-kind contributions to Trump’s campaign or any campaign committee. Additionally, Cohen was not a government employee at the time.

“The payment in question does not constitute a campaign contribution or expenditure and, therefore, the FEC lacks jurisdiction over this matter,” the letter added.

The Manhattan grand jury suddenly ended their session today and is set to convene again on Thursday. Some speculate that it could be because new evidence has come to light, such as this, or that Bragg has been uncovered leaving out exculpatory evidence.

Either way, this letter is a bombshell in the case against Trump and will clearly help his defense if indicted. The grand jury should have this evidence presented to him in order to once again discredit Michael Cohen’s testimony. "
