Political discussions about everything

Former President Donald Trump has hired Chris Kise, Florida’s former solicitor general, to represent him in the criminal investigation related to the FBI search of his Mar-a-Lago resort in early August.

Kise’s hiring comes at a critical juncture for the former president, whose legal team has faced criticism for its handling of the case in the Southern District of Florida, including its struggle to handle basic administrative tasks and make timely requests of the court. Trump’s team has tried to argue that the former president has the ability and right to declassify documents, that as a former president he is not bound to the same laws regarding the handling of classified materials, and some of the materials are covered by executive or attorney-client privilege. Trump has also sought to frame the dispute as a bookkeeping matter over presidential records, requiring negotiation with the National Archives, not criminal proceedings.

Nobody knows, but apparently any such sources might be the folks who helped cobble together the fake Russia dossier.

In other words, perhaps the boxes they wanted were the Crossfire Hurricane documents which Trump wanted to use to write his memoirs and/or run on in 2024.

Hillary deleted 33,000 emails under subpoena, BleachBit-ed the server, hammered 13 cell phones to bits, and was charged with nothing.

What was Obama charged with when he took 33 MILLION papers with him after leaving the WH? Nothing.

Lawyers for former President Donald Trump on Wednesday responded to the Justice Department in the dispute over Trump's request for a "special master" to review materials the FBI seized at his Mar-a-Lago estate.

Trump's lawyers have argued to a federal judge in Florida that the review is needed to deal with matters they argue could be covered by executive privilege.

What you had was one sitting president revoke the executive privilege of a prior president.

I don't believe this can validly be done, and that matter will also end up in the Supreme Court.

Lumpster knows very well that this was all about what colleges used to call a "panty raid."

When all is said and done, it will turn out that Melania's thong collection was the actual target.
