J&J told him right up front that their vaccine had an 86% efficacy rate. For the dimwitted here, this means that of every 100 people fully vaccinated, 14 still contract COVID and get sick. The drug manufacturers never claimed that the COVID-19 vaccine would completely 100% prevent infections. The vaccines are extremely effective in reducing the symptoms of the illness, that is, you end up having minor symptoms that resolve quickly instead of being hospitalized. And that outcome is quite satisfactory.

As Dr Birx indicated, it was believed in the early summer of 2021 that a person was "fully vaccinated" with two shots, and HHS ran TV ads all over the country indicating that people who got 2 shots could sing and dance and play sports.

Then, as the summer of 2021 unfolded, it became clear that people with 2 shots were getting covid and also spreading it.

Then Dems claimed people with 2 covid shots could not get hospitalized or die, and both of those assertions also proved false.

These ads had to be pulled by the late summer of last year as the evidence mounted that a person who had gotten two covid shots (my own situation last summer) could still get covid, still spread it, still be hospitalized, and still perish.

Fortunately for me, and for this fine forum, my own somatic habitus was taut, lightly tanned, lean, lithe, and fit last summer and my health remained superb as the summer of Clowntoker's discontent unfolded and yielded to autumn.
