Federal law enforcement was at the Virginia home of Jeffrey Clark, a former Justice Department official who is at the center of Thursday's Jan. 6 committee hearing.

A U.S. Attorney's office spokesman confirmed that the activity took place on Wednesday.

The spokesman had no comment regarding the reason for the activity.

News of the law enforcement activity came just over an hour before the House committee investigating Jan. 6 planned to hold a hearing looking at how then-President Donald Trump used the Justice Department to try to overturn the 2020 election results. Clark was central to that plot and created a backchannel directly to Trump, going over the heads of his DOJ superiors, the committee has contended.

Previous testimony has indicated that Clark strongly believed false claims that the election was stolen from Trump.

Trump considered appointing Clark as attorney general to help in his post-election fight, but several top Justice Department officials threatened to quit, leading Trump to ax that plan, according to previous testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Stacey Abrams did the same since 2018.

It is simply unknown all that transpired in 2020, when vote counting halted at 10 pm in key swing states and by magic the Trump leads vanished at 3am, but all the evidence coming in shows ballot harvesting and very suspicious activity.

But it is true that the Supreme Court had no interest in even taking the Texas case, but Texas still arguably had a judicially cognizable interest in whether voters in the swing states violated their own election rules (which they did).

That's why Trump handpicked him for that job, becuase nobody else was willing to declare "the election" was illegitimate. And we all know Hillary Clinton never went out and claimed that "the election" was faked or rigged because she's not some whiny man-child like Trump. And a mob never went and beat cops and stormed the capitol building to interfere with the democratic process. Perhaps the insurrectionist right wing loons should root for America for once.

Now the Feds raided Clark's home becuase they had evidence to believe that a crime was committed. Maybe they raid Mar de Crappo next?

Apparently they had no more evidence than Trump has. Or they knew that even if there was some local fraud, it wouldn't have altered the outcome of the election. Trump and his cronies have yet to provide a shred of evidence to support their claims.

The difference between your examples is that Hilary and Abrams cared about our country, so they conceded and allowed a peaceful transfer of power.

Years later, Trump is STILL out to destroy this country by fomenting civil war, without anything to back up his silly claims.

Where is the legal authority to ship illegal aliens at midnight into interior America at taxpayer expense?

Democrats paid for a fake dossier, used that for lies to FISA judges to wiretap Trump's staff, spied on Trump even inside the White House, and spent 2 years on a Mueller investigation they apparently knew was baseless in the first 2 weeks.

Media outlets knew the laptop was real in October 2020, but lied repeatedly to get past the 2020 election, and
over 50 intel officials helped in that deception.

So Hutchinson’s testimony regarding Trump’s batshit loonie behavior has obliterated whatever defense he had. So according to her sworn testimony, Trump knew the people (rioters) at the Capitol on January 6 were armed. And Trump knew that they were out to do no good. Yet he and his minions made no effort in warning law enforcement of this potential danger.

Obviously Trump's hail Mary pass was to disrupt the certification because all other attempts had failed, the lawsuits failed, the state level attempts at subterfuge and Pence's refusal to go along with Eastman's legal chicanery. And interestingly enough I gather from the testimony that Trump probably wanted to go with the rioters and enter the Capitol building. Which probably explains why he pulled the steering wheel stunt.

Now it won't be long for MAGAland to come to Trump's defense making up cockamamie excuses to explain away Trump's behavior. But it really doesn't matter because Trump handed over a can of gasoline and matches to his pawns and said get to work. Because on Jan 6, Trump wanted to burn down a democracy.

The only thing that makes any sense to me about Trump being willing to have gun-toting and body-armored thugs--uh, excuse me, 'patriots'--onto the Capitol campus was that Trump was hoping gunfire (i.e. a 'civil war') would break out at the Capitol and he would then have an excuse to declare martial law.

That would have given him an excuse to 'delay' the Electoral Count indefinitely while a strongman dictator 'established order' once again.

Then he (like johnforbes) would have blamed the shooting on ANTIFA and BLM, even though they weren't even there.

Cassidy Hutchinson's testimony has already been shown to be ridiculous.

She was so upset by Jan 6 that on Jan 14 she sought another job with Trump at Mar a Lago.

Also, obviously, the Secret Service said no grabbing of the steering wheel occurred. Even NBC and ABC, both very biased in favor of the Left, reported that.
