............and now a Florida sex-trafficking moron

Representative Matt Gaetz, Republican of Florida and a close ally of former President Donald J. Trump, is being investigated by the Justice Department over whether he had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old and paid for her to travel with him, according to three people briefed on the matter.

Investigators are examining whether Mr. Gaetz violated federal sex trafficking laws, the people said. A variety of federal statutes make it illegal to induce someone under 18 to travel over state lines to engage in sex in exchange for money or something of value. The Justice Department regularly prosecutes such cases, and offenders often receive severe sentences.

It was not clear how Mr. Gaetz met the girl, believed to be 17 at the time of encounters about two years ago that investigators are scrutinizing, according to two of the people.

Maybe one of the conservatives on the board can explain how the so-called "Party Of Personal Responsibility" now all of a sudden has become the "Party Of I Have No Idea How My Dick Ended Up In Some Teenager?"

Even Tucker Carlson had a difficult time with Gaetz's explanation.

Well, we already know religious Republicans have no idea how their dicks frequently end up inside young boys, so I'm just surprised this Republican even LIKES girls...of ANY age.

Republicans usually just curl their lips in disgust if you mention sex with legal-age women.

But I guess Trump said he would 'date' his own daughter, so I guess that qualifies as a girl.

This is probably political.

He was been a vocal opponent of Democrats.

Meanwhile, did Hunter get in trouble for lies told on a gun background check?

What about Ashley's diary mentioning "inappropriate" showers with her father?

I'm just asking so try hard not to attack me personally. Exactly who is a "conservative" in Congress or Washington? Sure wasn't Trump. I don't see any in the Republican party. I haven't believed in a partisan difference in any politicians for most of my life.

"Exactly who is a "conservative" in Congress or Washington?"-brandon

Nobody here was talking about "a "conservative" in Congress or Washington". elklindo asked conservatives HERE to explain it.

But I had the same problem for the past four years. Guys like sillydaddy, RealJustme, and johnforbes consider themselves conservative yet supported Trump, one of the most radical presidents we have ever had who systematically dismantled faith in our democratic government and much of its actual structure. (e.g. Now we have an emergency at the border because Trump dismantled the ICE infrastructure so there is no place to put migrants coming in. The system must be rebuilt.)

The board's conservatives considered Obama to be "divisive" yet supported the most divisive president in our history, to the point that our Capitol now resembles a fortress and it has become acceptable to Trump supporters to climb the walls, break windows, and run cars into police instead of accepting the rulings of our courts and decisions of our Congress.

How do you explain this contradiction of self-described conservatives supporting such radical changes and such an authoritarian leader? johnforbes is STILL fuming over the dozens of court decisions made about the last election, and even as an officer of the court himself, he refuses to accept them.

"I haven't believed in a partisan difference in any politicians for most of my life."-brandon

You may not mean "a partisan difference in any politicians" because there are many partisan differences. That is largely what politics is- partisan differences. There just isn't much substantive difference between them. They all are politicians and will do what politicians do for power and to get reelected. And usually what they will do is the exact opposite of what their opponent says he will do. That is a partisan difference.

But yes, they are all leading us down a similar road to less liberty and fewer freedoms so that they and their 'friends' can control the country. All we can hope to get out of it is some Justice, some domestic Tranquility, our common defense, and an improved general Welfare. (You need to ask yourself which party is doing the most to secure any of those things.)

From what I remember....innocent people do not ask for blanket presidential pardons.

Representative Matt Gaetz, Republican of Florida, was one of President Donald J. Trump’s most vocal allies during his term, publicly pledging loyalty and even signing a letter nominating the president for the Nobel Peace Prize.

In the final weeks of Mr. Trump’s term, Mr. Gaetz sought something in return. He privately asked the White House for blanket pre-emptive pardons for himself and unidentified congressional allies for any crimes they may have committed, according to two people told of the discussions.

Around that time, Mr. Gaetz was also publicly calling for broad pardons from Mr. Trump to thwart what he termed the “bloodlust” of their political opponents. But Justice Department investigators had begun questioning Mr. Gaetz’s associates about his conduct, including whether he had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old that violated sex trafficking laws, in an inquiry that grew out of the case of an indicted associate in Florida.

It was unclear whether Mr. Gaetz or the White House knew at the time about the inquiry, or who else he sought pardons for. Mr. Gaetz did not tell White House aides that he was under investigation for potential sex trafficking violations when he made the request. But top White House lawyers and officials viewed the request for a pre-emptive pardon as a nonstarter that would set a bad precedent, the people said.

If they can pin something on him, you can bet -- for partisan purposes -- they will.

You can also bet that Ashley's statement about "inappropriate" showers with her father will be ignored, and that Hunter's laptop will be "lost."

Isn't it pretty strange how Gaetz's only defenders are space death ray lady and the creepy wrestling coach. And I'm wondering why we still haven't heard from the individual who wanted to "date" his daughter.

On a side note......it's safe to say that Gaetz is going to be arrested before Hunter Biden ever is.

Good Lawd........Gaetz is fuuuuuuuuuuucked!

:O :O :O :O :O

A former Florida tax collector who’s a political ally of U.S. Representative Matt Gaetz is likely to plead guilty in a child sex-trafficking and identity-theft case, a move that could pose a legal threat to the Republican congressman and staunch supporter of former President Donald Trump.

At a status hearing Thursday in federal court in Orlando, Joel Greenberg agreed with prosecutors that his case “should resolve by guilty plea” at a hearing set for May 15 before U.S. District Judge Gregory A. Presnell, court records show.

The New York Times reported last week that the Justice Department is investigating whether Gaetz violated federal sex-trafficking laws through his connection with Greenberg. Fritz Scheller, Greenberg’s lawyer, told reporters for CNN and other outlets after the hearing that he is “sure Matt Gaetz is not feeling very comfortable today” but didn’t elaborate further.

Scheller didn’t immediately respond to a subsequent message seeking comment.

The probe of Gaetz is focusing on his relationships with women recruited online for sex and whether he had sex with a 17-year-old girl, the Times reported. Gaetz has said the investigation is bogus and claimed he’s the victim of an extortion campaign.

Gaetz’s office didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment on the hearing but on Thursday issued a statement attributed to “the Women of U.S. Congressman Matt Gaetz’s official office.” The statement didn’t name the women but said they had staffed meetings and planned events for him.

“Congressman Gaetz has always been a principled and morally grounded leader,” they said. “At no time has any one of us experienced or witnessed anything less than the utmost professionalism and respect. No hint of impropriety. No ounce of untruthfulness.”

Greenberg, the onetime elected tax collector of Seminole County, Florida, was charged in June with stalking and using a bogus Twitter account to falsely accuse a school employee of having sex with a student and promoting white supremacy. He was also charged with unlawful use of another person’s identification. Additional charges for sex trafficking were added later, accusing Greenberg of having “sugar daddy” relationships with girls.

"If these guys are found guilty, it's only because the Florida prosecutors are trying to distract from Hunter Biden's drug use. It's all politically motivated. Not like when Democrats are accused of illegal behavior and they're guilty until proven innocent. That's not politics, it's just common sense. I don't believe anyone but Democrats ever have sex with underage girls. Republicans don't even LIKE girls except when they are their own daughters. And then nothing happens.....I swear, nothing ever happened with their daughters."-johnFox and Friends

I suppose anyone who is stupid enough to Venmo his sex crimes......is also stupid enough to Venmo his dealer. I can surely bet you that we will find this out as well.

In two late-night Venmo transactions in May 2018, Rep. Matt Gaetz sent his friend, the accused sex trafficker Joel Greenberg, $900. The next morning, over the course of eight minutes, Greenberg used the same app to send three young women varying sums of money. In total, the transactions amounted to $900.

The memo field for the first of Gaetz’s transactions to Greenberg was titled “Test.” In the second, the Florida GOP congressman wrote “hit up ___.” But instead of a blank, Gaetz wrote a nickname for one of the recipients. (The Daily Beast is not sharing that nickname because the teenager had only turned 18 less than six months before.) When Greenberg then made his Venmo payments to these three young women, he described the money as being for “Tuition,” “School,” and “School.”

Maybe Trump was just giving Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal $130,000 'school scholarships' for 'tuition' expenses?

Perhaps that's why Trump didn't give Gaetz a blanket pardon? Trump thought there was no need for one. He knows perfectly well all Gaetz should need to do is get a signed NDA from his hooke...uhh, victi... uh, aspiring Work-Study scholars.

#130323
So let me get this straight....apparently Gaetz paid for sex and he sex trafficked a 17 year-old, who he claimed Tucker Carlson met at dinner. All of this when he was in office. And nothing from a single Republican? And not a single statement from Fox News. As a matter of fact, Fox News is barely covering it?

And when you think about it, if Trump says Gaetz didn't ask for a pardon...well that means Gaetz asked for a pardon.

Elkin, come on.

Every reasonable person should support educational opportunity for worthy young people, and that was all that was going on.

When Clown was saving up his dimes to enroll in the Eastern Mississippi Academy of Custodial Science, I was glad to help him out.

I couldn't bear to see Clown go through life without the ability to demonstrate his skill with a mop to the wider world.

johnny, come on.

If you actually believe he was just supporting "educational opportunity for worthy young people" then you're truly a gullible moron.

Nobody sends out scholarships and tuition by Venmo in the middle of the night, dummy.

You would have thought that Gaetz would have learned from Client #9 that you always use cash to pay for sex.

And it is crystal clear that what Gaetz has done is absolutely criminal, and how his crimes were completely ignored by the republican party in both Washington and Florida shows an astonishing level of corruption and hypocrisy.

Over time Gaetz has insisted that he never paid for sex. Now it may turn out to be true, technically. However, Gaetz paid his buddy Greenberg. And it was actually Greenberg who paid for the sex. This is the kind of nonsensical logic that the talking heads on Fox News to claim....Ya see....Gaetz was telling the truth all along.

Yes, elklindo, let's keep some perspective. Gaetz is just your garden variety Republican sex trafficker and child abuser so johnforbes doesn't find it newsworthy. With Republicans this sort of thing happens every day and no Republicans ever get upset about it. So why should you?

"Nothing to see here. What's a few more children anyway?"-johnforbes at a gun control rally after yet another school shooting

#130339
Now putting it into even more perspective, perhaps it's good thing for Gaetz that he's a privileged white man who got busted transporting teenagers across state lines and doing only Lawd knows what, and not some black man who was selling cigarettes on a Staten Island sidewalk.....because fuck....there are serious consequences for that shit.

"Come on, Clown, nobody is named Fritz Scheller."-johnflubs

Of course, "Fritz Scheller" is a very common German name, but johnforbes has no problem at all believing that a 39-year-old "Matt Gaetz" is affianced to a 26-year-old named "Ginger Luckey" who isn't a porn actress.

Wake up, johnny. Obviously Gaetz simply hired someone 13 years his junior to dupe his gullible constituents into believing he's attracted to grown ups. :/

But at least there is some deep state plot that will go out and hold Gaetz accountable for his perverted sex crimes.

Now when Gaetz discusses the deep state...I suspect he is referring to how far his head is up his ass.

When you think about it, in the United States it's safer to be a privileged sex trafficking white man than say a black man doing just about.....anything.

What ever happened to the party of personal responsibilities?
By johnforbes
#130393
Whatever happened to Democrats not caring about personal responsibility?

Biden was against the attack on bin Laden, but now seeks to take credit for it.

He was against court-packing, now likes it.

Cumela Harris said Biden was a racist during the 2020 primary, and now she loves him
By elklindo69
#130395
Maybe John Forbes can name all of the people from the party of personal responsibility who have called for Gaetz to resign?

Or are the rest of them attempting to delete their Venmo accounts? Maybe it explains why Gaetz was the only one who voted against the anti-human trafficking bill.

Gaetz is an embarrassment...even for Florida.

Elkin, please understand that people are presumed innocent.

Even Bill Clinton, who got oral sex from young interns on the job, was presumed that.

Those who waged a 4-year campaign to remove Trump, from Ohr to Strzok to Page to Comey to McCabe, were guilty but they too got their due process.

“Matt Gaetz is the same as any American, he's innocent until proven guilty,” McCarthy said when asked about pulling Gaetz off the Judiciary panel. “There are no charges against him yet. If a charge comes forward, that will be dealt with at that time."

Asked if Republicans might act against Gaetz before an indictment if new information is revealed, McCarthy said, “That's a hypothetical question. I'll deal with whatever issue as it comes. As of right now, Matt Gaetz says he is innocent, there's an investigation going on and I'll let the investigation take care of itself."
