So 1 percent of the "covid" bill goes for vaccine distribution.

Young teachers, at almost zero risk of getting the virus, can get covid shots, but elderly people cannot get the shots.

Only 9 percent of the bill goes to anything linked to covid.

This bill was TWICE THE SIZE, ADJUSTED FOR INFLATION, OF THE NEW DEAL.

They call it "pork".
If I'm not mistaken, Some of that is suppose to be for a highway tunnel in northern California...
But to hear the Demos tell it...It is the GOP that refused to vote for the bill because they hate America..! :O
#129967
sillydummy is so outraged by the legislation that he is going to send back his $1400 check with a nasty note.

That'll learn 'em, won't it, dummy..?

The fact is that 75% of Americans (including 30% of Trump supporters) support the bill. So yes, it is the GOP Senators and Representatives that refused to vote for the bill because they hate America and Americans..! :O

So you're claiming the New Deal brought us out of the depression at a bargain basement price, johnny? That's good, isn't it?

But now you don't think throwing more money at a possible recession or depression is a good investment?

You are aware that times have changed since the 1930s, right? I know you like to live in the past, but maybe effective methods to combat a financial meltdown must be modified a bit today. Maybe it will be more expensive today because our economy is much bigger and interdependant now.

You should set your partisanship aside for a second and consider that avoiding a deep recession or depression, even at great cost, is a good thing for America. We know that would be a bad thing for Republicans if America doesn't go down the toilet right now, but please think of your country over your party, johnny.
#129987
So you're saying you support the trillion dollars of spending not directly targeting COVID that is there to ward off possibly disastrous 'Great Depression' type repercussions from this pandemic emergency and recession the economy is currently in, the way massive war spending successfully helped the country?

Good, so we're on the same page. Tell your Republican representatives. They seem to think you are against it.

Oh, wait, are you saying you DON'T want to keep America out of another depression so you're against the spending?

That's reprehensible, johnny. That's downright "Republican" of you.
#130003
NOBODY ever said a few million dollars could ward of a Great Depression, dummy.

What you are really saying is you can't see how the arts make the lives of Americans better.

No one can convince a troglodyte such as yourself of the value of the Arts to improve the quality of life for people in any country or culture. You either understand or you don't.

You don't. That's one of the big reasons you voted for Trump. You think wallowing in the mud is just how you were always meant to live. And Trump did a lot to make sure you stay there the rest of your life while he continues to gather up millions from suckers all around the country.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if YOU have sent him a few hundred bucks from your monthly socialist checks. Guys like him thrive off suckers like you.

Oddly, clowns like you and johnforbes denigrate the poor in America because they don't pay income taxes to support our country, but for some reason you don't care that a billionaire pays only $750 a year, if he pays anything at all. He usually contributes EXACTLY as much as the poor do and you actually admire him for it while for some reason you look down our noses at the others who don't pay anything.

At least you don't need to worry about billionaire Trump paying anything for the COVID relief bill. He doesn't pay any of his bills, especially to his contractors and undocumented workers.

This "relief" bill is classic DC pork.

Sure, a small amount goes to covid, and some say that is as low as 9 percent, others say almost 40 percent.

But the vast bulk of the bill is just spending projects like a billion for Vista for 3 years, which really has nothing to do with covid.
#130016
"But You liberals accused Trump of lying about being a billionaire..."-sillydummy

But it doesn't matter what liberals think of Trump's money, dummy. It matters what YOU think of Trump's money.

YOU think he's a billionaire, but he pays no income taxes most years. That should anger you, but it doesn't.

Mysteriously, you only get angry at poor people (such as yourself) who don't pay taxes.

You LOVE tax cuts even though they don't affect you because you don't pay taxes.

But you admire rich people who don't pay taxes.

It's incomprehensible and hypocritical.

See? johnforbes can't show us any spending in the bill that is not beneficial to America and Americans.

He's just pissing himself because he doesn't like what the bill is called.

Criminy, what a partisan buffoon.

Elderly people have been prioritized for getting shots. What you state is a blatant lie.

Apparently johnforbes couldn't get an appointment for his vaccine.

I recommend he call a medical facility or his county health department instead of just lining up down at the "Flaming Flamingo Drag Club" early in the morning.

COVID vaccine is not the kind of 'shot' you will get there, johnny, as much as you would enjoy what they have to offer.

And you don't need to kneel while you wait outside the door either. Believe me, they know EXACTLY why you're there, johnny.

So the republicans were cheering on the 2 TRILLION DOLLAR tax cuts which went to benefit the wealthy.

Now when the democrats take charge and pass COVID-19 relief plan which will provide benefits for the middle class....the republicans now all of a sudden start screaming how this will raise the deficit and how it benefits the blue states. And from what I remember, red states tend to receive more in federal aid than they pay in federal taxes. And they have been doing this for decades.
#130031
Nobody cares about relative size, dummy.

You aren't in the dressing room at the drag club. There is no value to comparing the relative size of your package or the COVID relief package to everyone and everything else.

It's irrelevant.

But I grant you, you are definitely a big dick.
#130034
No, dummy. It will pay a lot of landlords for their inability to evict people for not paying rents because they lost their jobs due to COVID.

You're a Republican, silly. Why don't you think it's good that landlords should get some of the COVID relief money?

Do you prefer that they lose their properties? Or do you prefer that tens of thousands of people get thrown out onto the streets?

You should be able to answer that one, silly, a big-hearted, compassionate guy like you... :O
#130257
Red states have raked in more money in federal aid than they have paid in taxes for decades. And McConnell had the nerve to bellyache when they turned the tables.

It's as if conservatives could really give a rats ass about being a bunch of hypocrites.
