Political discussions about everything

So apparently it has been leaked that Trump got the COVID-19 vaccination in January for a virus that he said was a "hoax" in secret. So I'm curious as to why he kept it a secret from the American people???

[i]Former President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump received coronavirus vaccines in early January on the advice of doctors, according to a Trump adviser speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss the ex-president's medical history.

Trump aides declined to say what type of vaccine he received. At the time, vaccines manufactured by both Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech had emergency use approval from the Food and Drug Administration.

Aides did not disclose why Trump was vaccinated in secret. Polls have frequently found vaccine skepticism to be disproportionately common among Republican voters, a partisan divide that threatens to hamper vaccine rollout.

Maybe you can explain why the asshole ex-president got vaccinated....in secret....for a virus that he claimed that would all of a sudden disappear like a miracle.

Now they are eliminating mask mandates and other COVID-19 mandates in Texas. I'm wondering if we can immunize people from acquiring conservative stupidity.
#129893
These viruses do have a tendency to disappear, as SARS-CoV-1 did.

Should Trump have said that covid would one day vanish? No, it was bad politics, but what he said was true.

One day it will vanish, and the Left will be sorry it no longer exists to serve as a pretext for its power grabs.
#129898
No, what Trump said ISN'T true, dummy. You simply made it up because it is what you want to believe against all scientific evidence.

The common cold, another coronavirus, hasn't disappeared. It probably won't ever disappear. johnforbes knows this but pretends to know something he can't possibly know: that the COVID-19 virus will someday vanish.

johnforbes has no idea whatsoever about whether the COVID-19 virus will EVER disappear. The way it is quickly mutating into more infectious and deadly forms makes it far more likely that it won't just disappear as johnforbes desperately wants us to believe for his purely partisan political reasons.

Stop deluding yourself, johnny. You don't know if COVID-19 will ever vanish. But to pretend it will now is going to needlessly kill more people as moronic Republican public health policies prematurely eliminate mask wearing and open the country too quickly.

Texas, for example, has eliminated mask mandates and opened restaurants to full capacity for millions of Texans, but you Republican dimwits pretend that 25 Mexicans entering the country (that Texas refuses to test upon entry) are a more serious threat to public health.

This is your typical Republican hypocrisy at its most dangerous.

It's more than 25, Clown....
Un-accompanied minors alone are coming in at 350 per day...
Biden is now re-opening previously closed centers to house all these kids...
I bet the liberal media isn't telling you this...
When Trump was president the average number of kids coming was 47 per day...

I would like the media to ask Biden, how is easing immigration helping the average American taxpayer
like me...?
I understand that California will now consider farmworkers essential to the economy, so they will now go
to the head of the vaccine line..unless you are a total idiot you know who they are talking about..!

Meanwhile ...Any day now , Clown..

"It's more than 25, Clown....

Biden is now re-opening previously closed centers to house all these kids..."-sillydummy

Will you read what you just wrote, dummy? If the kids are being housed in centers, then they aren't a threat to average Americans, are they. And they certainly aren't the threat that you and johnforbes pose by refusing to wear masks as you wander angrily through the world indiscriminately spreading germs.

"I would like the media to ask Biden, how is easing immigration helping the average American taxpayer
like me...?
I understand that California will now consider farmworkers essential to the economy,..."sillydummy

So you don't need to eat, eh? A fat slob like you..? :O

"....unless you are a total idiot you know who they are talking about..!"-sillydummy

Yes, dimwit. They are talking about the migrant workers who raise and harvest your food.

Are you saying you don't want them to raise and harvest your food? They aren't essential to harvest your food? :/

Who do you think is going to do it? The perfectly healthy, angry white males in your local White Supremacist militias? The Oath Keepers? The Qanon 'shaman'? YOU?

Conservatives are always good for a laugh.

Biden's wife is a teacher union member and she surely helped Biden cave in to teacher demands for covid shots before opening schools (which will never reopen anyhow now because they close mid- May for summer anyhow).

Convenience store clerks are about a hundred times more at risk of covid than teachers, but they have no unions.

American citizens are much safter with illegals remaining in Mexico or El Salvador; let taxpayers there care for them.
#129973
Speaking of unions (as johnforbes was) did you see that Marco Rubio, a lifetime opponent of unions, has now endorsed the Alabama Amazon workers union?

"Thus in an entirely typical piece of mealy-mouthed timidity, Rubio backs into supporting the union entirely on culture war grounds. He doesn't even endorse the idea of unions in theory — on the contrary, he straight-up says they are bad: "Republicans have rightly understood the dangers posed by the unchecked influence of labor unions. Adversarial relations between labor and management are wrong. They are wrong for both workers and our nation's economic competitiveness." he says. He doesn't support the PRO Act for the same reason — it might lead to labor conflict.

"No, Rubio supports unions if and only if they can be used as a weapon against the supposedly-woke libs among Amazon executives: "Here's my standard: When the conflict is between working Americans and a company whose leadership has decided to wage culture war against working-class values, the choice is easy — I support the workers,"

"Conservatives are having a tough time doing their favorite thing: getting mad. Joe Biden has so far been a media-shy president — and when he does speak publicly, he tends to avoid hot-button cultural issues. Compared to Donald Trump's endless parade of inflammatory insanity, it's downright boring. So conservative media is scraping the bottom of the culture war barrel to find more outrages. Of late, Fox News has had multi-day panic attacks over children's books, an elementary misreading of a corporate press release about a plastic potato toy, and women being allowed to join the military."-The Week

It's really hilariously depressing watching Republican hypocrisy desperately seek another outlet when they have nothing real to get upset about. Even to the extent that they will turn against their decades-old position on one of their most hated, long-running boogyemen, the trade union.

We all know how Republicans love the working stiff so much that they are going to sandbag the
"Protecting the Right to Organize Act" in Congress while Rubio hypocritically postures as the champion of the working class.

Hypocrisy--without it there would be no Republican Party at all.
#129978
The difference here is that in 2024, when Rubio is your candidate for President, YOU will be standing behind him giving unequivocal support to his hypocrisy, all the while claiming he should be elected because of his adherence to Republican values.

So far I haven't heard you criticize Rubio as being a RINO when you have name-called Republicans with far more conventional Republican positions by that derogatory epithet. Why is that, johnny?

It's almost like you're some sort of partisan hypocrite or something.
#129989
"Well, I've never known what to make of Rubio."-johnflubs

Well, if you can't tell by now that he is a full-fledged Republican, then he must be a RINO, mustn't he. His Republican bona fides should be absolutely clear after all these years, shouldn't they?

So why not call him a RINO now before your party puts him up as your candidate, thus forcing you do vote Democrat? What's stopping you?

Can you say "Partisan hypocrite?"

I knew you could.
#129996
She may make a good candidate for the GOP (they don't have very many so the bar is set pretty low) but thank gawd we won't have to put up with her in any public office when she loses her race to a Democrat who's actually qualified for the job.
#130108
So Trump went out and took credit for the quick development of the vaccine while pitching hydroxycholoroquine. At the same time Trump avoided telling Americans to get vaccinated as doses started to be distributed and administered across the nation....while he got vaccinated in private?

This comes from the genius who went broke running casinos?
#130114
What's even more ridiculous about Trump supporters insisting that Trump get credit for vaccine development is that 41% of them won't even take the vaccine.

So dimwits like sillydummy laud Trump's great work in developing the vaccines but then they refuse to take the wonderful vaccines they say Trump is responsible for developing. :/

If anyone can explain that sort of Trump-supporter nonsense to me, please do.
#130255
No they didn't. You just made that shit up. Or more likely it's probably some Russian propaganda to sell their vaccine or something.

They are lining up down the block to get vaccinated not to get some tablets. Even Trump got vaccinated....in secret and that speaks volumes.
