Political discussions about everything

You Republican Trump supporters are the ones who want to remove protections in Sec. 230 of the Communications Decency Act and make those comapnies liable for anything that happens as a result of violent Trump supporters planning insurrection on their platforms.

Thus, they have no choice but to be sure nobody uses their platform to incite violence the way Trump has been doing.

You can't have it both ways, johnny. Either Trump tweets without them being liable or they need to cover their asses by making sure Trump doesn't tweet.

What Trump supporters want to do is sue those companies by claiming those companies are responsible for the damage done by the civil war Trump supporters are trying to start.

Incidentally, haven't you noticed how much more peaceful it's been since Trump has been quietly hiding out in the White House? It's almost like he's responsible for ALL of the upset of the past four years.

Only in the turbulent minds of the Left.

But ponder this: When they deplatformed Alex Jones, it was thought by the Left that he would vanish.

But people like that, with ideas which are "out there," just move into alt media.

And consider that Zuck and Dorsey, both young and lightly educated, consider themselves properly positioned to censor world leaders.

Now ponder the question of why they couldn't censor Biden, or remove him from Gmail.

I'm a classic liberal -- no matter whether I disagree with Clown, I will affirm his right to speak.

Only cowards engage in censorship.

So, let him go there. No one thinks they can make a loudmouthed asshole like Trump just disappear. You made it up as you make up most of the nonsense you post here.

"Now ponder the question of why they couldn't censor Biden, or remove him from Gmail."-john flubs

They could kick him off and they should if he breaks the rules of the platform, same as Trump, same as with anyone else. What's your point? Do you think Presidents are above the rules?

Especially when you are pushing to make the companies responsible for any consequences of their users' posts by eliminating Sec. 230 protections. For the sake of their shareholders those companies MUST get rid of Trump. Let someone else take on the liability if they choose.

But it's pretty idiotic for you to pretend someone is censoring Trump right after you just said they can't shut him up by kicking him off and that other platforms will give him a mouthpiece. Don't you ever see the glaring contradictions in your invariably specious arguments?

Besides, either Biden or Trump can go on any network news channel or give an interview to any newspaper, magazine, or blog anytime they wish and exercise their free political speech. They can hold a press conference anytime they wish. No one needs twitter or Facebook to express their political opinions. I am living proof. I have never tweeted or Facebooked in my life and I'm doing just fine. Why must you always lie to make your "fake" points?

The point, obviously, is that it isn't up to two college dropouts to censor people.

The First Amendment is a dead letter that way.

Trump didn't violate any term of service except by being a non-leftist, and everybody knows this was all about political bias.

Zuck and Dorsey made tons of money, but are not educated or sophisticated people -- merely Trump haters.
#129212
But these two unimpressive dropouts, Zuck and Dorsey, did indeed try to censor Trump and his half of the country out.

And why?

Because they are intellectual cowards and have no better countervailing arguments.

If I had the power, I would never censor Clown or his ilk.

He should bring forth his arguments and mount his evidence and argue his views.

My position against censorship is the classic liberal view.

johnny, first you claimed banning someone from twitter didn't stifle their free speech. They just went somewhere else, as is their prerogative. (Alex Jones)

Then right after you insist that banning someone from twitter somehow stifles their free speech.

Listen to yourself, johnny. You're certifiably insane. Never mind that there is no law against a company banning anyone for any reason they wish as long as it is equally applied to all.

No one says those college dropouts must post content from everyone or anyone at all. They post content if you follow their rules. Trump didn't follow their rules. Why are you whining about someone exercising their rights to control their own property? I thought you were a conservative.

"Because they are intellectual cowards and have no better countervailing arguments."-johnfoibles

johnny, they aren't in business to be intellectual heroes. They're in business to make money and not get sued doing it the way clowns like you and Trump want to do by eliminating Sec. 230.

"He should bring forth his arguments and mount his evidence and argue his views."-johnflubs

He DID, dummy. He argued that Trump broke the rules of the website and he said which rules Trump broke. And the evidence is all over Trump's twitter feed.Twitter had been flagging his rule-breaking posts for months. You can read the rules for yourself if you think he was wrong.

Conservatives are now the biggest cry babies because the grown ups took away their platform for spewing hate and planning criminal activities.

These social media platforms are PRIVATE PROPERTY so the owners can dictate the rules on how users can use the platform.

Now conservatives can create their own private platform, however, I suspect they will not do it becuase they are not willing to take on the legal liabilities for doing so.

"Just remember -- only cowards are so afraid that they censor."-johnflubs

Wow, johnforbes just admitted he believes Trump is a coward for banning posters from his twitter feed since he has repeatedly claimed that banning someone from twitter is censorship.

Remember, the courts held that Trump cannot ban anyone from his twitter feed. But we also know that johnforbes holds judges and courts in contempt.
#129287
Maybe johnforbes needs to look at this from a different perspective...

Trump is rich, college educated, head of a political party, and the most powerful man in the world, but apparently he can't figure out how to express himself without the help of two uneducated nobodies.

What does that tell johnforbes about Trump's qualification as a world leader? Or just as a man, for that matter.

What kind of man is "censored" and silenced because he can't send a tweet, even though he has unlimited access to every news organization in the world?
#129288
Well, I partially see that point, but Trump has zero access to news outlets.

95 percent of "news" outlets are now -- and this is sad -- merely propaganda spreaders for the Left.

But this censorship from Zuck and Dorsey is terrible because, although these people are successful and rich, they have never read Burke or Locke or Hobbes or Rousseau.

Instead, the two arguments of the modern Left are:

1) You are racist

2) You are censored or deleted
#129293
It figures, now johnny wants to tell us these two guys are really formidable opponents after all, not just uneducated nobodies as he was implying.

But it is a lie to say Trump can't get any news organization in the world, right leaning or left leaning, to put a complete unedited video on their TV station or website of anything Trump wants to say to the world.

All he needs to do is pick up the phone and call them.

johnforbes knows this but still insists Trump is being "censored" somehow. (How does anyone ever get by without a twitter account? How did Jefferson do it? How did Eisenhower manage? It's one of those mysteries johnforbes will never understand.

johnny, you should know by now, your idiotic partisan propaganda doesn't fly with people who have brains. Once again you are trying to make the most powerful man in the world out to be a helpless victim of two college dropouts. And if he actually is a victim despite all his power, then he isn't fit to be President, is he.
