"Democrats and their scientists were warning unless the Trump Admin acts, 2.2 million Americans would die this year from Covid."-RealStool

Never happened, Tool. It's just more of your made up stupid shit.

If you're going to continue to pretend it's true, you need to provide an attributed quotation.

The second problem with your idiotic thesis is that Trump DIDN'T step up and do anything to save lives. He spent three months downplaying the seriousness of the pandemic (he's STILL downplaying it) and told people they didn't need to wear masks or shelter at home and that the virus would "miraculously" disappear. He also contradicted his own scientists who told him what he was saying in news conferences was wrong. He said it anyway. Now we have him on tape admitted he was lying to you when he told us it wasn't serious.

Additionally, Trump failed to shut down travel from Europe. So the shut down on travel from China was largely pointless. More virus came in from Europe and tens of thousands died needlessly because of it.

That prediction was made utilizing limited information, however, with more information becoming available more accurate statistical prediction models were created. Now the statistical models more accurately predict the number of COVID-19 infections and deaths.

As usual Johnnie dumped another steaming pile of bullshit on the board.

"The reference was to biostatistician Neil Ferguson who did indeed estimate that 2.2 million Americans plus 600k in the UK might die from covid-19."-johnflubs

johnforbes unwittingly proves what I said is correct and what RealTool posted is a lie, but he pretends that I was wrong, which I was not. RealTool DID make it up.

Well, either that, or Trump supporters just don't understand simple English--take your pick. Most Trump supporters can't differentiate between "would" and "could".

Of course, Ferguson was correct in his estimate that 2.2 million could possibly have died from COVID if Trump had not shut down the economy. johnforbes is quite happy that Trump shut down the economy, but being a partisan hypocrite, he can't admit that Ferguson was correct.

What I posted was simply the history of covid-19.

It is a FACT that Neil Ferguson scared the world by predicting 2.2 million covid deaths in the US.

That was why Fauci and Birx went to Trump and said we need to lock down the nation and ruin its economy.

What they didn't say was that both of them had clear ties to Democrats and that it was all about the election.

Two new papers published in the journal Nature say that lockdowns put in place to slow the spread of the coronavirus were highly effective, prevented tens of millions of infections and saved millions of lives.

"Our estimates show that lockdowns had a really dramatic effect in reducing transmission," says Samir Bhatt, a senior lecturer at the Imperial College London's School of Public Health, who worked on one of the papers published in Nature.

Bhatt's team analyzed infection and death rates in 11 European nations through May 4. They estimate that an additional 3.1 million people in those countries would have died if lockdowns had not been put in place.

"Without them we believe the toll would have been huge," Bhatt says.

In addition to the paper from Bhatt and his colleagues, Nature also published a separate study from the Global Policy Lab at the University of California, Berkeley. That study analyzed lockdowns in China, South Korea, Iran, France, Italy and the United States.
