Gold price makes history, hits all-time high and analysts still looking for more.

The juggernaut that is the gold market remains unstoppable it started the week hitting an all-time high against the U.S. dollar.

The gold market made its historic move Sunday evening during the Asian trading session. First spot gold hit its all-time high above $1,920 and then August futures quickly followed suit. August gold last traded at $1,922.70 an ounce, up more than 1% on the day.

In a recent interview with Kitco News, Marc Chandler, chief market strategist at Bannockburn Global Forex, said that he expects that gold prices could easily hit $2,000 an ounce before this current rally is over.

“It is difficult to talk about resistance in never-before-seen prices, but if our view of interest rates and the turn in the dollar cycle is fair, then $2,500 might not seem unreasonable,” he said in a report Sunday, reiterating his current bullish stance.

Predictably, leave it to RealTool to get on the wrong investment train again.

Since June 19 when RealTool told people to buy gold (AGAIN) gold is up about 13%. ($1,743 to $1,956)

Meanwhile, the silver train is up 43% over the same time. ($17.60 to $25.21)

Trump really has everyone scared, doesn't he?

(Now RealTool will tell us how he is happy to get 13% on his gold investment in a month but he isn't interested in the 43% he could have had instead with silver over that same time. Fuck the other 30%, right, Tool?)

I'm delighted my childhood coin collection increased in value so much, but RealTool really needs to learn to read the markets in his chosen field of investment.

Say "Hi" for me to the guys down at Partisan Hate Retirement Systems, Tool.

Clown, had you listened you could have made 13% in just a month and you pretend a 13% return in just a month is bad

You should have listened to me 3 years ago about investing in gold.

Got gold?
#126742
What did I tell you? RealTool leaves 30% on the table and he's smug about it.

RealTool can't be bothered to actually learn anything about metals investing.

Instead, he unquestioningly swallows his daily investment pablum direct from his handlers who are taking him for a ride to financial mediocrity.

"Got gold?"-RealTool

Sure, I also have silver.

I already told you I have an old coin collection.
#126746
Post a bit more detail about your old coin collection and it might be interesting.

I got a coin collection from my father-in-law, and I'm debating whether to just sell it.

All I had myself was some maple leaf and panda gold coins which I gave away as graduation gifts.
#126972
Well look at that-- Biden declares Harris as his running mate and it calms the "disaster metals" markets caused by Trump's chaotic governing and fiscal policies so much that silver tanked almost $4 (14%) and gold nosedived $140 (over 6%)

The people seem to be greatly comforted by the selection of Harris for VP.

I hope Partisan Hate Retirement Systems told their clients to sell yesterday.

Kumela favors taxpayer-funded health care for ILLEGAL immigrants.

She is a nut, and even Democrats didn't like her during the primary season.

On the plus side, she was Willie Brown's mistress while he was married.

ACTUAL GOLD SPOT PRICES TODAY

$1947 --- NOT $2035

Gold hasn't been over $2000 for days, and it certainly wasn't over $2000 yesterday when Tool gave us his quote. It closed at $1952 yesterday. Prices are actually down today, not up as his handlers told him.

Apparently Partisan Hate Retirement Systems told their clients to "BUY" that day instead of "SELL".

Imagine how much Partisan Hate Retirement Systems bilks RealTool by feeding him false spot quotes and then overcharging him by $90 an ounce on each purchase he makes.

Life is definitely harder when you're a partisan tool.

i think i'd listen to clown over real on this issue. but what do i know i only have 3% in au from way back when life was good, the lemon-aid sweet and icy cold, and republicans acted somewhat civil. except for human civil rights for all of course.
#127010
john your absolutely right ... prior to 1964. then you jerked off on a cornflake and morphed to team-trickle-down-bob republican. i grew up and stepped off the magic bus when i woke up to the fact it was not justice for all.

unfortunately until you and your ilk grow up and recognize ALL people, just like you and me, deserve fair access to the attributes of equal footing. two feet on a one foot path ain't equal. when the same ratio of human beings can afford the gold, then we might be getting close to equality. we can then, imagine this, delete costly criminal training "jail-schools" due to abject poverty. replace with real reformative schooling. cut the police force because crime is down .stop paying rich guys for section 8 housing payments. cut the healthcare cost . with equality we could pet lions with the lambs in the safe golden streets. there may be a smarter way than affirmative action. but fucking people over ain't gonna' work. so what's your solution besides another soundbite.

and again technically correct except that the black boards were / are so worn they no longer show fresh chalk and the desk wobbles in 4/4 time to help with the math rhythm. don't forget the fully stocked library with a whopping 200 books, or the district is in the left over south side, with broken ac's and leaking roofs. ignore the fact that housing was and is routinely denied. yes i agree affirmative action is fucked up, worse is throwing a segment of human ability out the door due to learned hatred from the yester-years dems and today's repubs. have you been slammed face down in the dirt for minding your own business? i bet it would piss you off too. take the opportunity for peace by creating a fair community. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7mZXwbddWg

My high school had no AC at all.

But kids were not all wimps back then.

As to fairness, the promise of America is equal opportunity -- not equal outcome.

Clownslacker, for example, had the same chance to prevail in life as the rest of us did, and it isn't our fault that he resides in a plywood shack in the development called "Trash Dump Estates" in scenic Bugjuice, Mississippi.
#127016
"...it isn't our fault that he resides in a plywood shack in the development called "Trash Dump Estates"..."-johnflubs

Yes, johnny, that's what the locals fondly call the "Trump Estates" garbage built by its eponymous slum lord.
#127020
I apologize for any assumption that I was being critical.

Clownslacker has been an abysmal failure in life, and he resides where he does as a consequence.

On the plus side, his view of the local trash dump is stunning.
#127034
so all you got is you had no ac and clown lives in a plywood box? that's your comment? that's the entirety of your thinking, that mr lily white tough guy is his own success is from not having ac. clue no one did back in 1948 few did till 1970+-. and i'd be willing to bet clown lives in a nicer mansion than your mansion... black people were /are still systemically blocked from gaining access to basic assets for building "wealth " ( however you define that). you mr holier than thou ain't having to deal with a tilted playing field or changing rules which you absolutely ignored as usual. just ask the first nations people about those 1851 / 1871 appropriations acts or those and freedom for all jimmy crow "rules" . you think because you chime on about fair and balanced it makes it so. come on, give us all some non-sequitur, diversion about hillary or how you shine your muscles with crisco, from the cato lab. what are you doing to make things better for all not just you .. NOTHING!
your better than this. act like it.
#127036
black people were /are still systemically blocked from gaining access to basic assets for building "wealth "
Yep, until they change their culture and ways, the majority of them will remain asset free. Those blacks who have escaped the hood mentality and took advantage of opportunities open to all Americans, have done very well.

Robert Johnson, who became the country's first black billionaire when he sold BET to Viacom in 2001, told CNBC that the government should pay trillions of dollars for reparations to help reduce racial inequality, which has been at the center of protests across the U.S.
THE FOUNDER OF BLACK Entertainment Television called for the government to give $14 trillion in reparations for slavery.

14 trillion is really not that much in the scheme of things
and I would be all for it if I could only be sure that once they get the money...
all the niggers would just go away. :O

still nothing of import just a witless challenge, of push ups. gee i don't know, wanna swim 15 miles with towels in your hands for sport and salad? got any real answers? or just more crap.

ahhh jimmy crow's grandson arrives to talk about a "them", a reviled nemesis culture. should i remind you with some facts and scores . white muuuuutherfuckers helped create "their culture" as you call it. and now we and "them" have to deal with it, or fix it to your personal liking, without forgetting, "they" are americans too. with freedom and JUSTICE for all. except "their" culture of course. do you think hatred is helping to solve anything?
#127043
Heck no, I wouldn't challenge anybody to a 15 mile swim.

I've barely been swimming in recent years, but I've done my usual 500 situps today.

I do 'em 100 to a set, but not on a incline board.

It is entirely likely that Diver could beat Ruth Bader Ginsberg in arm-wrestling, though.
#127057
Criminy, Tool, will you never learn? You absolutely SHOULD be humble and stop making a fool of yourself.

Gold "leaped" .86% from close yesterday to now. ($1983 to $2000) By your measure it "leaps" virtually every day, up or down $17.

".86%" is not "2%" dimwit. Your dollar value increased less than half of what you think it did.

So you're gloating because gold is just starting to recover from the nosedive it took after Biden announced his running mate? It still has a ways to go to get back to its high of $2069. You're still down from where you were 12 days ago, dummy.
#127084
I hear the white trash Bonnie and Clyde duo will be making their debut at the RNC.

This must be the Trump administration's last ditch effort to make Trump seem to be articulate in comparison.

Manchelle, speaking from her 11 million dollar mansion on Martha's Vineyard, has not worked a day in her life at an honest job.

Closest he/she came was some community outreach "job" for a hospital.

But, hey, race-baiting pays well, and so he/she does it.
#127123
I wonder if RealTool noticed that on Tuesday gold was over $2000 an ounce.

Then Tuesday night Biden secured the Democratic Party nomination.

The next day, gold slid $75 dollars an ounce lower to $1927.

It looks like the world feels better about both Harris AND Biden. :O
#127141
That stock -- which is a cutting edge tech holding if you are 90 years old -- has certainly fooled me.

I never liked the site or the stock, so missed out on that.

On the plus side, there are many forms of tech opportunity and my tech stuff is up 38 percent so far this year.
#127270
So on July 27th RealTool advised everyone to invest in gold.

On July 27th Gold closed at $1944. Today, six weeks later, gold is at $1935!

WOW! Down $9. Who could have seen that coming?

Chalk up another predictable investment loss for RealTool and Partisan Hate Retirement Systems.
#127523
RealTool's Partisan Hate Retirement Systems investment update:

On July 27th (the date of RealTool's recommendation) gold closed at $1944. Today, two months later, gold is at $1871!

I hope no one listened to RealTool's predictably disastrous investment advice. You would have lost almost 4% in two months.

Another big win for RealTool's retirement portfolio.

(Of course, johnforbes' tacky gold chains depreciated by 50% the minute he walked out the door of the jewelry store.)

Some threads are just superior to others.

This thread is one example.

When the history of this fine forum is written (and it will be), this thread will stand as a shining example of how civil discourse and productive coversation remain possible in this era of tumult.

Updating Clownslacker's personal portfolio, his holdings in cutting edge stocks such as American Horseshoe are holding up well.

No, I began the year wondering whether I should hold as much Facebook and Apple as I do, particularly since I don't use either.

Then it up and that seemed dandy, then it went down again -- much like a Clinton intern.

From what I remember you said that you didn't understand Facebook....and you went and ridiculed Zuckerberg?

This doesn't pass the sniff test?

#127675
I don't like Facebook, so that is a slightly different point.

For cutting edge technology for your grandmother, Facebook is wonderful and addictive.

Zuck is like a lot of silly kids -- uneducated, rich, and socialist with other people's money.
#127737
So if you don't like facebook...then why do have it to begin with in the first place?

I don't care about what people's personal opinions are about Zuckerberg. If you have an issue with his ESG then get rid of it.
