The fact is COVID related hospital admissions make up less than 5% of inpatients in the majority of the States. Only ONE State has more than 25% COVID related inpatients.

Hospital administrators explained the only reason hospital admissions are up, is because the 100's of thousands of people who couldn't get elective surgeries or treatment for other illnesses during the shut down, are not coming in for treatment.

I had a liberal friend try and convince me that hospitals are so over flowing with COVID cases that people are dying in the waiting rooms. When I showed him the CDC factual numbers that less than 5% of hospital patients are COVID related in most States he had a melt down claiming Trump had forced the CDC to come up with those numbers.

The world is laughing at our shut down.

The increased cases found are probably from more testing, eh?

And every new case identified lowers the mortality rate more, and it is now at about the level of a bad ordinary flu season.

And that is true despite the fact that the death toll is overstated because those who died WITH covid were counted as BECAUSE.

Criminy, the ignorance of you clowns is staggering.

No, johnny, it absolutely ISN'T just "The increased cases found are probably from more testing".

The proof of this fact is that the RATE of new cases is increasing. It used to be about 10% of those tested showed COVID. Now it is around 20-25% showing COVID. If the increase in cases was only the result of more testing, then the percentage of positive results would have remained constant at 10% no matter how many tests you ran.

Why are conservatives so math-challenged? It's like you never graduated high school. RealTool can't handle percentages in his investing. Why should he get it with COVID tests?

And you, johnny, you supposedly know better but you keep returning with your Trump ignorant bullshit despite your knowledge that it's a lie.

Now, the further proof that the increased cases are not simply the result of increased testing is that the net number of hospital admissions for COVID are also going up. If the increased cases were the result of more testing, then the hospital admissions would have remained flat. Instead, many hospitals are now either out of ICU beds or are over 100% capacity already, racing to convert recovery rooms and hallways to ICU. The rest of the hot spot hospitals in Florida and Arizona are nearing capacity.

There is one further point that should help you grasp the seriousness of this pandemic. That is that frontline caregivers are becoming exhausted, and we are nowhere near the end of this thing. One hospital had 40 care providers call in sick in one day. They cannot simply be replaced by calling a temp agency. And this means that YOU MORONS might not get care if you need it. That should concern you. But it doesn't for some reason.

You dimwits simply can't grasp that it isn't the percentage of all hospital beds occupied by COVID patients. It's the number of ICU beds that are occupied by COVID patients, and that means no matter how many hospital beds are available for other patients, if any of them need ICU beds and ventilators, then they are shit outta luck. And for those true ignoramuses out there, COVID is not the only condition that requires ICU care.

It isn't rocket science, dimwits. But it IS life or death.

You despicable turds are on the side of a cavalier acceptance of more needless deaths. You're Republicans and Trump supporters, after all.

The original rationale for the lockdowns was to flatten the curve and prevent hospitals from being overwhelmed.

Those were both achieved in a month, but various governors loved the power, conformed to Lord Acton's saying about power corrupting, and were unable to ever stop locking people down (e.g., that pompous putz Newsom in CA).

For doctors and nurses, the pandemc was about them -- their protective equipment, their hospital.

That is why Fauci and all the others probably lied through March 31 about masks not being needed.

Although the NATURE study revealed no detectable viral shedding, there doubtless would be some with a sneeze or cough and there the mask might lessen the outgoing viral load.

In New York the curve is flattening because people are wearing the mask and social distancing is being self enforced.

However it's all the opposite in Texas and Florida.

Someone explain to me how some shitstorm president is cutting funding for COVID-19 testing and track and tracing during the middle of a raging pandemic that Trump said which would miraculously disappear which has now turned into millions of being infected and 135,000 deaths???
