Three things about Pete's military record, which he constantly brags about:

1) Direct commission, like Hunter Biden. He did not training, just passed a physical and put on officer's rank.

2) He cited Kerry as a role model, and Kerry threw away his medals and in congressional testimony lied and said torture was routine.

3) Mayor Bootygood said he drove or guarded a truck 119 times "outside the wire." Look, driving in the military and looking out for your vehicle, these are things so routine there are no figures even kept. So the 119 number was just made up by some speechwriter.

In the ideal, every president would have military service overseas to get the feel of what implementing foreign policy really means at the tip of the spear.

Like others here, I've been on guard duty looking across at enemy soldiers, and it isn't always enjoyable.

Like Biden and Clinton and Gingrich and many others, Trump would have more and different perspective had he served, but his general approach is correct -- stay out of overseas conflict UNLESS you plan to win and quickly.

But we live in the real world, where Liz and Bernie and most others did not serve, and so we select candidates based on those on the ballot.
