Kidding aside, nobody really knows.
As your own affluence increases, it becomes more and more difficult to say what a person is really worth because it depends upon many factors such as potential sale prices of real estate, stocks, etc. if one wanted to go to all cash.
A few hours after the close of every trading day, I get a calculator and my tally sheet and arrive at a rough idea of my net worth.
I ignore vehicles, and (unlike many others) ignore real estate. After all, if you sell your main house and your weekend/vacation place, you would still have to buy something to keep the rain off your head.
For decades now, I've been totally debt-free, so the debit side is easy to add up: Zero.
But tonight, about 7pm, with US markets closed and a day off Monday, I still won't be able to calculate my net worth to anything closer than, say, a band of about 1/2 million one way or another.
