claiming that the 30,000 people are dead. Claiming that these dead people registrations could be used to steal the election with voter fraud. Claiming that 30,000 is a significant threat to the election becuase the past Presidential election was won by 14,000 votes.
Net result. All horse hocky.
Yes, some of the people are dead and have been removed from the rolls. About 6,000. Still, the SBE already removes many 10,000s of dead people every year in their normal processes.
Oops, a very large fraction are alive and have been voting and will continue to vote.
Oops, the SBE checked to see if any dead person referenced ever voted while dead. Oops, no voter fraud found and no know cases of any other in person voter identity fraud in NC.
Oops, the SBE checked to see if public data was available to the teabaggers that would have cut the list down. Yes, it was available.
Cost to NC for this fraud? Quite high, and all while they prepare to make voting in NC run smoothly.
