Political discussions about everything

"..The $1.7 billion was the settlement of a decades-old arbitration claim between the U.S. and Iran. An initial $400 million of euros, Swiss francs and other foreign currency was delivered on pallets Jan. 17, the same day Tehran agreed to release four American prisoners.
The Obama administration had claimed the events were separate, but recently acknowledged the cash was used as leverage until the Americans were allowed to leave Iran. The remaining $1.3 billion represented estimated interest on the Iranian cash the U.S. had held since the 1970s. The administration had previously declined to say if the interest was delivered to Iran in physical cash, as with the principal, or via a more regular banking mechanism...."

What??? A quid pro quo??? By Obama?? The Hell you say..!!!

Nobody ever said a quid pro quo is bad in international relations, dimwit.

What concerns people about Trump's quid pro quo is that it violates U.S. campaign law and was for personal political gain and against the best interests of the United States. All Trump's military advisors agreed that the aid desperately needed to be sent.

No, it doesn't, dummy.

There is no requirement that there be a quid pro quo for it to be a violation of U.S. campaign laws. The mere act of asking a foreign government to do ANYTHING to help Trump's personal political interests is all it takes. There is no dispute that Trump did that in the call. Biden's name was used 13 times in the phone call and afterwards Trump told reporters that an investigation into the Bidens (not into Ukrainian corruption) was what he hoped to get out of the call.

The quid pro quo aspect only makes the crime worse. In committing this campaign law violation Trump delayed desperately needed military aid against the clear interests of the U.S. so that his personal political interests could be advanced at the cost of YOUR interests, silly. You should be pissed off, but instead you are bending over and whining "Thank you, sir, may I have another?"

Holder and Lynch had zero regard for the rule of law, but it is true that State found 588 violations regarding Hillary's email, but neither State nor DoJ charged one single person with one single thing.

So Clown is correct that the average citizen is now reasonable to wonder whether the rule of law still exists.

Certainly important Democrats seem to be above the law.

Will there be any fake whistleblower (like Eric Ciaramella, age 33, registered Democrat in CT, who worked for Brennan and Biden, who worked to dig up Ukraine dirt on Trump) for Obama's phone calls to Iran and Russia?

Look, Obama gave pallets of cash in the dead of night transported by civilian planes, so the phone calls setting up that quid pro quo had to be filthy dirty.

johnny, you need to address your anger toward the incompetent Trump Justice Department. Trump could look at those call transcripts whenever he wants, so undoubtedly the calls were "perfect". You can stop worrying about them. You can Trust Trump to do the right thing, right? Or are you saying you have no faith in his judgement?

johnforbes still doesn't understand that the world is in fact spherical, and that when it is night on one side, it is day on the other. That's how lacking his absurd education is.

Dimwitted johnny also doesn't understand that flying military aircraft into a hostile country might cause someone to start a war, either intentionally or accidentally. Obama sent Iran's own money to them. But let's say it was a quid pro quo. There is nothing wrong with that. Obama didn't do it for personal campaign advantage to the detriment of U.S. interests. It was absolutely in our interest to reduce tensions between our two countries and eventually lead to an effective nuclear nonproliferation deal that helped the entire world.
